Drinks with currants, strawberries, lemon, orange and mint can be drunk immediately or prepared for the winter.
6 important points
- Sort out and rinse the berries. Overripe and green ones are not suitable for compote. For a richer flavor, you can use more berries and vary the amount of sugar. And if the drink turns out to be sugary, just increase the amount of water.
- To get rid of the worms in the raspberries, put them in a bowl and cover with a mild saline solution for 5-10 minutes (about 1 teaspoon in 1 liter of cool water). Rinse afterwards.
- Raspberry compote can be made for future use or drunk right away. The cooking process is different, so choose the one that suits you.
- Each recipe is for a three liter jar. Change the amount of ingredients proportionally if you need a different volume.
- If you are going to preserve raspberry compote, be sure to sterilize the jars and lids.
- Store the blanks for the winter in a cool and dark place.
