5 reasons to love Lifehacker and Tinkoff debit card
5 reasons to love Lifehacker and Tinkoff debit card

1. The card is easy to arrange

I ordered mine almost immediately after Lifehacker and Tinkoff created a joint card based on Tinkoff Black. It differs from the usual debit in more favorable terms and design in the corporate style of the Lifehacker. To get it, you don't need to kill time for a visit to the bank - I just filled out a small form on the website and waited for the courier. At that time I was in Orenburg, but this did not affect the speed of delivery: I had the card two days later.

2. You can withdraw money at any ATM

I don’t use cash, so I get very angry when the store doesn’t accept cards. I get angry, and then I look for the nearest ATM of any bank and withdraw money. You can withdraw from 3,000 to 100,000 rubles for free. And in ATMs "Tinkoff" - any amount up to 500,000 rubles.

This scheme works both in Russia and abroad. There are no sudden commissions, and you can set the limits yourself. If I know that I might start spending money uncontrollably during a bar tour, I simply limit the amount I can withdraw in one day ahead of time.

3. There is no need to change the currency in advance before the trip

Tinkoff has an interesting thing: any card can be made multicurrency right in the application. I really like it.

When I used the services of another bank, before the holidays I had to open an account in euros with a separate card, which then lay idle. Yes, you also had to pay for her service. With "Tinkoff" for one card, you can open several accounts at once for free and switch between them in the application or in your personal account on the website.

In addition, when you pay abroad with a ruble card, it usually happens like this: you pay, and the money is debited after a while at an unpredictable rate. Now you don't have to guess how much will be removed in the end: you pay immediately in the required currency. Out of curiosity, I compared the rates of several banks - Tinkoff offers a very pleasant option.

4. Really cool mobile app

Seriously, I love him very much. It has many useful features that make my relationship with money easier:

  • Cost statistics. A clear diagram shows how much money and what I spent in a month. I study it periodically so as not to relax.
  • Quick access to cards from other banks. It turns out very convenient: in order to transfer money from one account to another, you do not need to constantly enter the card number. With any card linked in the application, you can replenish your Tinkoff account without commission.
  • Live chat. I write there if I am stupid and forget how much this or that limit is, or I want to be told in detail about new proposals. They answer quickly and to the point. Once, before going to Germany, I forgot to notify the bank that I would be in another country for several days - I did it via chat in a couple of minutes.
  • Stories. They are much more interesting than mine on Instagram. You can, for example, find out how cool it is to have a vacation in Russia or what movie to go to on the weekend.

5. The card makes money

You can use it as a means of payment or as a piggy bank, in any case it turns out to be profitable. Here are some of the features our card has:

  • Free service. With the Lifehacker and Tinkoff card, you will receive 6 months of free service. And even after six months it will be possible not to pay if you have a ruble deposit in Tinkoff, have an active cash loan, or have more than 30,000 rubles on your card. In other cases, the service will cost 99 rubles per month, but you will still earn more than you spend on it.
  • Percentage on the balance. For a Lifehacker and Tinkoff card, it is 5% per annum per month, if you store up to 300,000 rubles on it.
  • Cashback in rubles. It is credited for any purchase paid with a card. For special offers, you can return up to 30% of the amount spent.

Now I have about 200 available specials. If I need something, I first see if the bank's partners have suitable options. For example, only for special offers I get my hair cut and buy gifts.
