J. K. Rowling turned 50 on July 31st. It has been 18 years since the writer crossed the poverty line with the release of the Harry Potter novel, which has sold over 400 million copies worldwide.

According to Rowling, her life is very ordinary. Joan spends a lot of time with children, loves to cook and only rarely comes out. She promised her editor never to pick up Fifty Shades of Gray, but she can give any book a chance if she has a little free time. Rowling doesn’t like “women’s books”, fantasy and science fiction, and prefers novels to them.
