3 main rules of shopping in online stores
3 main rules of shopping in online stores

Rule 1. PayPal only

All purchases need to be made only through. Unfortunately, this opportunity is no longer available - you should use their own AliPay payment system. Why? The combination of payment systems gives a double guarantee of the safety of your money.

On some sites, refunds are only possible to internal wallets or in the form of points that can be used instead of money. At the same time, points can be spent only on purchases at full price, and almost all goods in Chinese online stores are sold to the end customer with a 30-50 percent discount. Thus, when paying with points received when returning a previous purchase, the goods will be one and a half, or even twice as expensive. But when buying through PayPal, any seller will be obliged to return the money to the PayPal wallet.

In addition, PayPal has the longest deadlines for opening a dispute - 180 days - and there are two separate categories:

  1. "Dispute" - to solve problems at the "seller - buyer" level.
  2. "Claim" - to contact the technical support of the resource.

As a rule, the employees of the translation service return all funds to the buyer, including the cost of delivery, in any problem situations that occurred through the fault of the seller, if it was not possible to agree with the seller about adequate compensation.

There is another point: the majority of payment systems, according to legal documents, are responsible only for the fact of transferring funds from one account to another. And only PayPal and AliPay use the concept of "purchase" in their user agreements. Accordingly, only they fully protect the user from purchasing a product of poor quality or not corresponding to the description of the product (including if there was a change in the characteristics of the product on its page after the purchase).

Rule 2. Only good sellers

Buying from a seller with a low rating in 70% of cases leads to negative consequences. The savings are negligible. Therefore, when purchasing a particular product on AliExpress, look at the reviews on the seller's page. Do not forget that extremely positive reviews can simply be winding up. Therefore, it is worth looking for reviews about the seller or company on third-party resources. It is likely that, despite the high rating, everything will turn out to be very bad.

Many very good sellers sell the same substandard lot. After that, on specialized forums, they, of course, are blacklisted, which can be easily verified.

And a little clarification: one product from the seller may be of poor quality, and the second may be very good. This can also be checked in application to a specific Wishlist.

Rule 3. Only correct receipt of the parcel

Receiving a parcel is one of the most difficult and important processes. If the package was stolen on the way or the wrong product (or a brick for weight) turned out to be in the box, you will need proof that the substitution was not made by the buyer. Therefore, you need to act according to the correct algorithm:

  1. The process of receiving a package and retrieving its contents must be filmed. The video should include the delivery of a notice to the mail worker, inspection of the package of the parcel (search for damage, signs of opening), opening the parcel, checking the contents for damage to the inner packaging and the product itself.
  2. It is possible and necessary to sign the notice only after examining the appearance of the parcel. Has the package not been tampered with? Then the mail doesn't owe you anything else.
  3. If the outer (postal) packaging is damaged, you need to open the parcel. If everything inside is according to the order and the packaging of the contents is not damaged, you can safely pick up and sign. Otherwise, you must write a statement directly by mail. On the notice, the signature on the receipt of the parcel must be absent.
  4. If everything is fine outside, but inside is porridge, then it is the seller's fault. It is necessary to open a dispute. The post office cannot repack your purchase, so it is worth demanding a refund from the seller.
  5. If everything is fine, do not delete the video for a month and a half or two … Try to carry out a full stress test of the equipment and all the necessary checks for authenticity and only then tick the box about receiving the parcel. For any discrepancy, it is worth opening a dispute.
