The key to building any habit quickly is repetition.
A habit is something that happens automatically. We may not even notice that we are performing an action day after day. It is enough just to receive a certain signal that makes us do something.
To build a habit in seven days, find a cue and repeat the action over and over.
With this method, you can develop many of the habits you need.
But it can be difficult to force yourself, for example, to read half an hour a day or write 500 words. In this case, start small and gradually increase the time and effort until you get what you want.
Place the book in a prominent place. This will serve as a signal for you to read. Each time you see it, read one paragraph at a time. After a week, start reading a whole page. Your brain will remember this ritual; over time, reading for a long time will become easier and easier for you.
This method will also help you develop habits that are necessary, but hard for you. If you want to fight shyness, for example, look in the eyes and smile at everyone you pass. This is already a big step towards overcoming your problem. Then you will notice that you smile when you meet any person, because your brain is giving you a familiar signal.
If you want to lose weight but are sedentary, make it a rule to exercise every hour. Post a note to remind you of this.
According to research, to form a habit, you will need to repeat it daily for a maximum of 254 days. Try to speed up this process by repeating an action 37 times a day for a week. Then the developed habit will definitely stay with you for a long time.
