From young Rostov romantics Ssshhhiiiittt! to the famous Norwegian group a-ha.

1. Ssshhhiiittt

When: February 6.

Where: 16 Tons Club.

Ssshhhiiittt! is one of the most popular young rock bands in the country now. Vocalist Nikita Kislov composes soulful and touching songs about growing up, falling in love, and his own doubts.

An interesting fact: at the time of the first concerts, the members of the group hardly knew how to play instruments. However, their songs already found a great response among listeners. And the first performance of the band in the capital was attended by hundreds of the same young "losers", to which Nikita himself counts himself.

Despite the fact that in the last couple of years Ssshhhiiittt! on each of its solo albums in Moscow gathers more than 1,000 people, the group decided to give a special winter concert in a relatively small club "16 Tons". There, the guys will play an extended program, as well as perform songs that have never been heard at such a performance before.

2.4 Positions of Bruno

When: February 14.

Where: Club Aglomerat.

“4 Positions of Bruno” is the already cult duet of Alexander Sitnikov and Anton Klevtsov from Yekaterinburg. The guys started writing songs for this project back in the 2000s.

The musicians perform experimental electronic music with action-packed lyrics. And from the album "I'm ordered", released in 2014, the group began to focus on vocals and lyrics, which are compared with the prose of Yuri Mamleev.

The participants themselves are representatives of a kind of deep domestic underground, whose music can only occasionally be heard in the capital's clubs.

This solo concert is almost the first in Moscow, where it will be possible to accommodate a large number of people, because usually the participants choose quieter, artisanal and therefore cozy places. The main reason is the presentation of their new album "Merry Starts".

3. GS

When: February 21.

Where: "Moscow Hall".

Once the group was called Glintshake and performed English-language guitar rock songs in the manner of Sonic Youth, getting into the first wave of new Russian music. Now the guys have switched to their native language, changed their name to "GSh", and their work now more resembles "Sounds of Mu".

The band performs atonal pop songs with an unusual rock texture, which are already considered to be the avant-garde. But the group itself rejects this.

The lyrics of "GSh" are in many respects about Moscow. And the collective is inspired, according to its participants, by Russian literature. Including advertising posters, which the group is not afraid to call part of Russian culture.

Why go? To see a burning show from the brightest representatives of the new rock, the genre format of which has long been blurred. Now the group and its individual members often give concerts in Europe, so it's better not to miss the moment.

4. The Orb

When: March 22.

Where: Club Aglomerat.

The Orb is an electronic project of the legendary musician in this field Alex Patterson. His tracks were a radical innovation for the 80s and spawned the ambient house genre, ahead of Moby and even Aphex Twin.

Over the years of its existence, more than 10 people have been involved in The Orb project, but he travels to Russia with his colleague, Berlin electronics engineer Thomas Felmann. The musicians will present their latest album, No Sounds Are Out of Bounds, which was released in the summer of 2018.

The record includes groove, electronic chill, ambient and dance style at the same time. It is noteworthy that the album has many star guests: singer Rihanna appears in the song Drift, composer Roger Eno - in the Ununited States. And that's not all.

At the Moscow concert, The Orb promises to perform old songs that have already become classics for the ambient house genre.

5. GONE. Fludd

When: March 30.

Where: Club Adrenaline Stadium.

GONE. Fludd is one of the main names of 2018 in Russian rap culture. The young author of the project, Sasha Buse, performs hip-hop songs with funky loops and perky lyrics that include his own slang, or rather "flexicon" (from the words "flexit" and "lexicon").

For example, "shweppsovo" means fresh and cool. And "chuits" is a universal word that characterizes a vivid image, a lifestyle.

Over the past year, the artist has released two albums that have broken records for reposts on VKontakte. His video "Mumble" has collected more than 13 million views, and GONE. Fludd himself managed to visit the "Evening Urgant" and the program "vDud".

You need to go to see a bright and atypical representative of the domestic hip-hop culture, as well as "flex" (dance) surrounded by the colored heads of listeners and chupa-chups.

6. Daughters

When: April 6.

Where: Pravda Club.

The Daughters are an American rock formation that has existed since the 2000s. The band performs chaotic, noisy music that floats from genre to genre, even within a single song.

At the end of 2009, the team suddenly announced a hiatus. And now, eight years later, in 2018, the group suddenly released the album You Won’t Get What You Want, the name of which fully characterizes its specifics: this is music that is not going to adapt to the audience, but, on the contrary, dominates.

But those who can listen to the album to the end will be completely satisfied, feeling the catharsis from the versatility of the Daughters' creativity. Only the lazy edition did not include this project in the list of the best full formats of the year, and the group itself travels to all major festivals as part of the tour.

7. LSP

When: April 20.

Where: VTB Arena Park.

"LSP" is a rap group from Belarus, which only 12 years after the start of its career declared itself. In 2015, their EDM rap changed to cocky, boastful and melodic. Confirmation of this is the album Magic City.

As a result, feats were recorded with rapper Oxxxymiron and other prominent representatives of the domestic hip-hop culture, and last year the group gathered Adrenaline Stadium.

Almost a year later, LSP will give a concert for the first time in its career at the Lev Yashin Central Stadium. After the resounding success of the Tragic City album, the group delighted their listeners with only a couple of new tracks to shoot in 2019.

At a concert in the Russian capital, LSP promises to assemble a full-fledged rock band and give a unique stage show, in which the participants will present a new program, as well as perform their old hits like Monetka.

8. Apparat

When: May 17.

Where: Izvestia Hall.

German electronic musician Sasha Ring, who performs under the name Apparat, is an uncharacteristic representative of the Berlin electronic scene. In his work, he balances between EDM and techno, enriching songs with live instruments and making them memorable.

All these years, the musician actively performed with another project - Moderat, recorded pop anthems and learned wide gestures. And in March 2018, he announced the first LP5 album in six years.

Now the performer is going on a large Soundtracks Live Tour, during which he will come to the capital and present his new disc. It is worth going to a concert to enjoy a live performance, which will delight you with the presence of a large orchestra and an abundance of instruments.

9. Alice in Chains

When: June 20.

Where: Club Adrenaline Stadium.

Alice in Chains is an American representative of grunge music, in which the band members introduce metal and even shades of glam rock. The group has several platinum albums, sold-out tours of the United States and nominations for a Grammy.

The guys started at the same time as Nirvana and played actively until the death of vocalist and frontman Lane Staley, who died of a drug overdose. The group was not active until 2005, when they decided to give a concert in support of the tsunami victims in Southeast Asia.

The last album, Rainier Fog, was released by the band in August 2018. He is going to present him at a concert in Moscow. Perhaps this is the only chance to see the group in Russia.

10.a-ha

When: November 22.

Where: Crocus City Hall.

Norwegian electro-pop group a-ha travels to Moscow. This band is one of the first, and at the moment it is also the most famous representative of the Norwegian "cold" synthesizer music. This genre is now characterized as synth-pop.

The golden era of the band's creative path came in the late 80s - early 90s. The Swing of Things and I’ve Been Losing You were the singles that sounded at that time on radio stations around the world. Then more than a million copies were sold.

It was in this era that the band members are going to return their listeners, judging by the name of the tour: Hunting High and Low - this was the name of their debut album. The band promises to perform all the songs from this release in unusual arrangements.
