Designer Aleksey Smirnov - how to choose a suitable interior style and make the bedroom a stylish and pleasant place to relax.
What's trending now
Furniture
A modern interior is necessarily a comfortable space for living, where simple furniture of a laconic shape and natural materials in decoration are used. But massive objects are a thing of the past, like artificial textures. One of the main trends is wicker, almost garden furniture made, for example, from bamboo.
Lighting
Spot lighting is becoming more and more popular and is replacing general lighting. If you like reading before bedtime, then it is worth installing a bedside light, which can be either directional or diffused.
Colour
Color saturates fashionable interiors more and more, so there is no need to be afraid of bright colors. With the right approach, they will make your home more interesting. For example, you can highlight one accent wall with a bright color, or introduce a rich shade using textiles such as pillows, bedding, or curtains.
Decor
The greening trend continues to be relevant. Plants can be placed singly or in groups, creating an entire jungle in the room. It is also fashionable to use textured fabrics in the interior, such as linen, velvet or velor.
5 trendy bedroom design styles
Scandinavian style
This style fits into any interior and is suitable for a bedroom of any size. To be in trend, it is better to give preference to natural materials. For example, wood texture will give warmth and coziness to the interior, and not only light, but also dark shades. The latter will add graphicity to the bedroom. Wood should be used not only in the flooring, but also in furniture elements: bedside table legs, bed frame, desktop.
If you choose a light color scheme, you can visually expand the space. You can use not only white or shades of gray, but also various gradations of beige. It will remind you of the natural theme even more.
Natural stone can be used in the decor. With its help, it will be possible to bring bright accents into the interior and make the room more comfortable. Fill the room with posters and plants with large green leaves to add variety to a discreet interior.
Minimalism
Now the trend is a combination of functional things with art objects that will add originality to the interior. Such objects can be unusual bedside tables or lamps that emphasize the selected range of the room or become a bright color accent.
It is better to choose furniture of a laconic and simple form, complementing it with unusual lamps, and in finishing to give preference to light natural shades, especially when it comes to a small-sized room. You can also use darker colors in decoration and furniture. But in this case, be sure to add a little contrast as a color accent.
Choose contemporary art and graphics for decor. Instead of oversized pendant lights, it is better to use a recessed or linear light in a flat profile. This will further emphasize the simplicity of the chosen style.
Classic
A trendy bedroom in a classic style is best decorated in neutral natural shades. For example, wooden furniture will give the room the brutality and features of the American classics. If the bedroom is large enough, you can select a work area or a place for reading in it: an armchair, a floor lamp and a small table.
In small bedrooms, it is best not to overload the space and settle for a bed and a pair of side tables. At the same time, one should not forget about the traditional style, which provides for accent objects in decor and textiles. Don't be afraid to add pillows, paintings and flower vases.
50-60th
If you want something a little different and love the aesthetic of the 50s, mid-century style is perfect for you. Wooden furniture on thin high legs, round lamps, colored ornamental wallpapers will set you up for relaxation, and in the morning they will cheer you up.
As a decor, use plain curtains that support the main color of the wallpaper pattern. Place your favorite items and books on open shelves, and place a narrow, bright rug near the bed.
Loft
A cozy bedroom can be decorated even in such a brutal style as a loft. Choose rough textures, at least on an accent wall: stone plaster, concrete panels, gray or red brick. The ceiling can be decorated with wood paneling or beams. You can also use a chalkboard effect paint.
Industrial-shaped metal lamps will support the concept of such an interior well, and various elements from pipes, for example, shelves, will emphasize the factory style.
Use unusual items as decor: concrete pots, a bicycle frame as a hanger, mirrors on leather straps, or metal sculptures.
Remember that bedroom design should be based not only on current trends, but also on the needs of the owner of the house. The bedroom should be in harmony with the inner world of the tenants, be a pleasant place to relax and at the same time be combined with other areas of the apartment.
