10 craziest theories about the Avengers: Endgame movie

The leaders of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are doing their best to keep the plot of the future film a secret. Even the trailers do not reveal practically any details. Fans come up with dozens of the most plausible theories. At the same time, the directors of the picture claim that no one has yet guessed the real plot and the denouement.

But sometimes fans go too far in their assumptions. And sometimes they just entertain readers with crazy theories. Lifehacker has collected ten of the most famous and implausible versions of the development of events.

1. Ant-Man and "Tanus"

Considering that Ant-Man was not involved in the events of Infinity War, many believe that he will somehow influence the events of Endgame. The trailers of the new film also hint at this.

And among theories about quantum measurement and time travel, a more unusual version has arisen. It was called the "Tanus theory". It is already difficult to figure out who first came up with the idea that Ant-Man would climb into Thanos' anus and grow in size, tearing the titanium apart.

This version suddenly gained massive popularity. Fans even created video clips from Ant-Man and CGIs to showcase the "victory" process. And the most active ones even for some reason created a petition to include the scene in the film.

But this turned out to be only the beginning of the story. Soon the joke reached the filmmakers. Then actor Josh Brolin, who plays Thanos, who faces such a terrible death, shared a video on Instagram with an unambiguous hint of this theory.

And the directors of the film, the Russo brothers, completely changed the logo of their Instagram. Now these are two lilac circles, and Ant-Man stands at their intersection. It seems the joke has gone too far.

2. Rescue in a cat

And, perhaps, in the most literal sense. In the movie "Captain Marvel", all viewers instantly fell in love with a cat named Goose, which turned out to be in fact an alien creature called Flörken.

At first glance, it is really indistinguishable from an ordinary cat, but in moments of danger, huge tentacles crawl out of the creature, and its mouth can swallow anything or anyone.

In the comics, Carol Danvers did have the same cat, though her name was Chewie (after Chewbacca from Star Wars). And there another interesting detail was revealed: flerkens can swallow any objects due to the fact that inside they have a portal to another dimension.

All this together gives a lot of room for imagination. After all, some fans assume that in the finale of "War of Infinity" half of the living creatures did not die, but simply ended up in another dimension. So, perhaps, you can get to them directly through the mouth of the Geese.

Or, at some point, she will simply devour Thanos or his glove, because the Goose swallowed a tesseract, in which one of the stones of infinity is enclosed.

3. The real villain is stone

Namely the stone of the mind. Fans analyzed previous films of the MCU and came to a very unusual conclusion: a considerable part of the problems arose precisely because of this stone of infinity.

He was in Loki's staff when he tried to take over the Earth. It is possible that he was the one who prompted Tony Stark to create Ultron. And he also becomes the last in the gauntlet of infinity, allowing Thanos to destroy half of the living creatures in the Universe.

Of course, there are some gaps in this theory: Thanos conceived genocide much earlier, and Loki was a scoundrel long before he got the stone. But suddenly his action spreads literally through time. Of course, it would be very strange if Thanos actually turned out to be a harmless good man, and then all the heroes had to fight with a stone.

4. Thanos will team up with the Avengers

Another unexpected theory doesn't make Thanos kind, but makes him cooperate with the Avengers. According to one version, Nebula may simply steal his glove and become even more dangerous than his father. As ridiculous as it sounds, this is exactly what it was in the comics.

According to another version, Thanos and the Avengers will have to unite to save the Universe from an even more terrible scourge. Perhaps from one of the most powerful villains in the Marvel world - Galactus. This is an almost omnipotent immortal character, capable of devouring entire worlds. Indeed, compared to him, even Thanos does not seem so scary.

5. Loki survived and he is the Hulk

After the death of one of the most charismatic villains, Loki's fans have come up with dozens of theories about how he actually survived. Indeed, the personality of the god of cunning disposes of this: he “died” more than once. Even the convincing phrase of Thanos did not stop the fans: "This time it will not come to life."

Versions were built differently, but the strangest and very widespread theory is that only an illusion died, and the real Loki reincarnated as Bruce Banner.

That is why the dying Heimdall sent the Hulk to Doctor Strange, and why Banner could not turn into a green monster in the entire previous film. Here, of course, there are again many questions: where is the real Banner, why did the Hulk almost "come out", and why Loki behaves so strangely. But fans are looking for any hint of saving the pet.

6. Thanos … just died

One of the most simple and even plausible theories. In the finale of Infinity War, Thanos snaps his fingers and half of the living creatures in the universe turn to dust. Then he moves somewhere, communicates with young Gamora, and then, as dreamed of, sits and meets the dawn.

There is a version that, in fact, after clicking on it, nothing of this happens. As you know, the glove destroys everyone at random. It is possible that titanium itself was included in this sample. In this case, the Avengers will not have to fight with him in "Endgame", but will only need to figure out how to reverse the consequences of his actions.

Although it is still rather strange that the main villain of the entire MCU simply died on his own.

7. Thanos will defeat Dormammu

The evil magician made of energy appeared in the movie "Doctor Strange". Then the main character defeated him, imprisoning him in a time loop. Strange and Dormammu agreed that he would no longer encroach on reality. But the doctor disappeared after Thanos clicked, and now nothing prevents him from violating this agreement.

Some viewers believe that it is Dormammu who will again attack Earth and fight Thanos. And here it is already difficult to imagine who will be stronger: Strange defeated him, possessing only one stone, but still thanks to his extraordinary mind and ingenuity. So if Thanos loses, the heroes will only have to get rid of Dormammu again in a proven way.

8. Doctor Strange used the time loop again

According to another version, everything that was shown in the finale of "War of Infinity" happened in another loop that Strange made. Fans even noticed that during the battle with Thanos, they never show his left wrist, which should have a glow around it, if he uses this trick.

This means that after the victory of Thanos, time will simply rewind and endlessly repeat the very options that Strange foresaw until it comes to the only true one. Here, however, it is not clear why Thanos himself did not see the glow. But there are versions that at the right moments, Strange simply hid his hand or sat on it.

9. Tony Stark will make Ultron again

Another fan theory is associated with the sinister creation of Iron Man. Many believe that Ultron's true potential has never been revealed in the films. And so there were suggestions that Tony will again gather an army of robots that will give battle to Thanos.

Of course, after Ultron nearly destroyed the entire Earth, it is unlikely that anyone will allow Stark to do this. Moreover, according to other assumptions, it is the robot that can become the second global villain of the "Final". But repeating the same mistakes twice is very human.

10. Deadpool will save everyone

No matter how much Kevin Feige says that years will pass before the complete merger of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the X-Men world, fans rejoice at the return of the heroes and are already building theories about their participation in the movie "Avengers: Endgame". Someone suggests that Thanos' click awakened the forces of mutants, and they should flicker in the picture at least in a small cameo.

But most of all they discuss the appearance in the MCU of the beloved by many talkative mercenary Deadpool. Even in the original trailer, scenes with his participation were mounted.

According to the main version, Ant-Man will enter a parallel world through the quantum dimension, where he will meet Deadpool. And then they use Cable's time machine to travel back in time and defeat Thanos. And all this with jokes and fun. True, if Cable also participates in this event, actor Josh Brolin will have to fight with himself.

Of course, none of these theories are likely even close to the actual plot. But that doesn't stop fans from having fun and making new assumptions. Moreover, new plots can also arise from them - if not for films or comics, then at least for parodies.
