Despite the significant development of medicine, it is now widely believed that early vaccinations can cripple a child. Is it worth risking the life of a child? Vaccinated or not? Let's try to figure it out.
The fear of vaccinations today is akin to medieval obscurantism. It is spreading very actively, social networks and personal communication of “caring mothers” are becoming the main source. Unfortunately, most of them know about medicine only by hearsay or come from their own experience of communicating with local would-be doctors.
Yes, vaccinations can cause certain complications. First of all, it is an allergy to proteins, on which many vaccinations are based. When a child's immunity is weakened by a disease, the manifestation of the disease from which the baby was vaccinated is also possible. However, even in this worst case, the disease will have much less force than possible, and therefore less consequences. With allergies it is even easier: tests with an allergist will allow you to choose the right vaccine and concomitant therapy.
Although parents are usually not worried about these problems … For some reason, the main misconception is associated with the possibility of developing autism in children who have received the vaccine. However, in 2005, a US research team analyzed data on nearly 100,000 children and found no link between measles, rubella and mumps vaccinations and the development of autistic disorders.
The article, published in The Journal of the American Medical Associations, presented the results of a medical study of children of different ages vaccinated with the MMR trivial vaccine against measles, rubella and mumps. The children were divided into three groups: healthy, children with autistic disorders, and children with a brother or sister diagnosed with autism.
After analyzing the data, scientists did not find a link between vaccinations and the development of autistic disorders. Neither healthy children nor children at risk. Other studies have shown the same.
It is much more dangerous not to vaccinate a child. Recently, due to the deterioration in the quality of medical care in the CIS countries, outbreaks of fatal diseases have become more frequent. Local epidemics also occur periodically. Measles, mumps and scarlet fever have become commonplace. In some countries, polio is still defeated in almost the entire world. And tuberculosis is ubiquitous even in Russia, moreover, cases of belated isolation of people with an open form of the disease have become more frequent. All of these diseases are fatal to children. Tuberculosis and poliomyelitis leave terrible traces: the child becomes disabled.
It is worth remembering about, perhaps, the most terrible disease - tetanus. Vaccination against it is done literally in the first days of life. And for good reason.
The causative agent of tetanus is akin to gas gangrene, it is able to live in an airless space. And the thin baby skin and the ubiquitous spread of microorganisms that cause tetanus can lead to death even from a small bruise, scratch, bruise, pinching.
It will be too late to get vaccinated at this point - the disease develops very quickly and cannot be treated.
Of course, only the parent can decide whether to take the risk or not, to get vaccinated or not. But if you haven't vaccinated your child, remember to isolate him from other children. After all, they can be carriers, since they are immune to fatal diseases.
Better yet, take your unvaccinated children to a place where contact with people is out of the question. Do not raise the epidemiological level. Do not become the cause of mass infection.
