If you follow these tips, your iOS device's battery will last as long as possible.
1. Disable Bluetooth
If you are not wearing an Apple Watch that requires Bluetooth to function properly, disable the wireless protocol first. This is one of the most voracious iOS features.
You can disconnect from Bluetooth devices directly through the control point, which opens by swiping your finger across the screen from the bottom up. But you can completely deactivate the sensor only through the system settings.
2. Disable LTE
When your cellular provider only gives you 1 GB or 2 GB of data per month, turning off your 4G connection can save you that - not to mention battery power. But even if there is a lot of traffic, there is still Wi-Fi in many public places.
To disable LTE, go to settings, open the item "Cellular" and there click on the appropriate switch. You can also block 4G for the most power hungry apps like Music or Photos. This is done through the settings of each of them.
3. Disable unnecessary notifications
Leave alerts only for the most important apps and features that always require instant verification. Disconnect the rest to save the battery. This can be done through the "Notifications" section in the iOS settings.
4. Disable automatic brightness adjustment and enable "Grayscale"
Lowering your screen brightness is one of the best ways to conserve battery power. To prevent the iPhone from constantly knocking out the brightness you selected, turn off its auto-adjust. To do this, go to the system settings in "General" → "Accessibility" → "Display adaptation" → "Auto brightness".
In the same section, through the "Light Filters" item, you can enable "Grayscale" to make the screen black and white. This way your eyes will feel less tired and your phone will consume less energy.
5. Set the brightness to 10-25%
Set the desired brightness through the control point. For most cases, 10–25% is enough. If necessary, for example in the sun, it can be quickly adjusted.
6. Turn on "Reduce Motion"
In Accessibility, activate the Reduce Motion switch. This feature simplifies the animation you see when you press the home button, and also removes the parallax effect in which the wallpaper, programs and alerts move slightly.
When you turn on Reduce Motion, the Message Effects (Auto) toggle appears. Disable it too. Pop-up and full-screen effects will now need to be played manually, but the phone will last longer.
7. Disable 3D Touch
In the same "Universal Access" you will find the 3D Touch function. It can be useful, but the vibration from it consumes battery power every time. After disabling it, you will have to hold your finger on the screen to use some features of the iPhone, and some chips like folder previews will disappear.
8. Disable all vibration effects
In the "Universal Access" item there is a button to turn off all vibration effects - even for calls. Or you can turn off vibration in silent mode. To do this, go back to the main screen of the system settings, open "Sounds, tactile signals" and deactivate vibration in silent mode. Now vibration will be turned off only when you press the "Ring / Silent" switch on the side of the device.
You can also turn off the Shake to Undo feature. You can find it in the Universal Access section. As you might guess, it can be used to undo the last action, such as entering a character. But in practice, it is much more convenient and faster to correct errors manually. But vibration will not consume a charge.
9. Disable "Content Update" for unnecessary applications
Through "General" → "Content update" you can specify which programs' content should be updated, even when they are minimized. Leave the feature enabled only for applications that sync for a long time (Dropbox, Evernote) or useful while traveling ("Google Maps").
10. Set auto-lock for one minute
The longer the phone screen stays on, the more power is wasted. Open "Display and brightness" in iOS settings and set auto-lock for one minute.
11. Disable "Raise to Activate"
When the device screen is inactive, energy is saved. There is no need to waste it every time you take your smartphone. Turn off the "Raise to activate" function just below the auto-lock. Now the display will only light up when you press the home button or side unlock button.
12. Disable Siri
If you don't use Apple's voice assistant for important tasks, turn it off. Just uncheck all four toggles in the Siri & Search menu.
13. Disable "Power Saving Mode"
As surprising as it sounds, the battery can drain faster in this mode. iPhone automatically sends an alert when the battery is below 20% and prompts you to turn on the feature. You can see that often when the answer is yes, the battery charge quickly decreases - sometimes to the point that the smartphone turns off.
Disable "Power saving mode" through "Settings" → "Battery". A decent alternative is airplane mode. By the way, while you have not yet left this menu, you can at the same time activate the "Charge in percent", so that you always know exactly how long the battery will last.
14. Disable "Location Services" for unnecessary applications
By default, many programs track your location, but most do not need it to function properly. Through your iOS settings, open Privacy → Location Services. For apps like the App Store, Dropbox, and Evernote, select Never, and for those that require GPS, select Using.
15. Disable sending analytics to Apple
When this feature is enabled, iPhone automatically generates analytics files on a daily basis. This also affects the battery charge. Open Settings → Privacy, scroll down the screen and tap Analyze. Then remove both switches.
16. Disable "Automatic Downloads"
In Settings, open your Apple ID and find the "iTunes Store and App Store" section. In it, remove all automatic downloads. After that, the smartphone will stop downloading purchases that you made on other Apple devices.
17. Enable downloading data for "Mail" and "Calendar" only via Wi-Fi
Open "Accounts and passwords" in the settings and disable Push in the "Data download" section. Activate Sampling for all applications and select Automatic. IPhone will now download new data for Mail and Calendar in the background only when connected to Wi-Fi and power supply.
18. Enable "Low Quality Mode" in "Messages"
At the very bottom of the Messages settings, there is a Low Quality Mode option. If you activate it, the standard messenger will send compressed images. This will save you time and battery power.
19. Disable Game Center
Game Center is not only annoying with its notifications, but also wastes battery if you log into the service. If you are not an avid gamer, then deactivate the function at the bottom of the iOS settings.
