In iOS, signatures to folders do not play such an important role as on a computer: from the icons of the applications in them, it is clear what is inside. However, you cannot leave them empty. Some users add thematic emoji instead of names, but there is a better solution.

You won't be able to use a regular space: iOS considers this to be an accidental error while typing and does not allow you to save the new name. But if you instead take another whitespace character from the Unicode table, the trick works.

The braille space character (U + 2800) is fine. Here it is, between the square brackets.

To hide the folder name in iOS, do the following:

  1. Highlight and copy the invisible character between the square brackets above.
  2. Enter edit mode by holding your finger on the folder icon until other icons start to shake.
  3. Tap on the field with the name and erase everything by clicking the cross on the right.
  4. Paste the copied symbol and close the save folder. Ready!

Repeat this for the rest of the folders, and you will get a neat desktop with a grid of icons that, without their white signatures, almost do not block the wallpaper and do not spoil their appearance.

Unlike other methods that are no longer available, this method is not based on iOS bugs and does not pose any threat to users, which means it will probably work in the future.
