Lifehacker collected the best novelties of the first month of summer, as well as bright continuation of favorite projects.
A lot of TV shows go on hiatus until the fall, and other projects take their place. The month will begin with the premiere of the series "Good Omens" based on the work of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman and the film adaptation of the DC horror comic "Swamp Thing". They start on May 31, and therefore made it into our list of premieres of the previous month. But according to Russian time, this will be the first day of summer.
Premieres of the month
1. LLC "Eternal Grace"

The series, which was originally advertised as Our Lady, LTD, has changed its name. The plot will tell about a young fraudster James (Jimmy Simpson), who wants to steal the property of the elderly pastor Byron Brown (Ben Kingsley). But it turns out that the priest is much more dangerous than you might imagine.
2. NOS4A2

The project is based on the book by Joe Hill (Stephen King's son), which was named in Russia "The Land of Christmas". In fact, the title is an allusion to Nosferatu. The plot will tell about the girl Victoria McQueinn (Ashley Cummings), who is able to get into the world of lost things. But she soon meets the immortal villain Charles Manks (Zachary Quinto), who feeds on human souls.
3. Urban stories

The new version continues the stories of the mini-series of the same name in 1993, 1998 and 2001. The main character Mary Ann (Laura Linney) returns to her hometown of San Francisco after a twenty-year absence. She dates her daughter, ex-husband, and many strange and eccentric friends.
4. Jett

Daisy Kowalski, nicknamed Jett (Carla Gugino), is a professional thief. After serving time in prison, she decides to quit with a criminal past and devote the rest of her life to her little daughter. However, old affairs and problems do not let go of the heroine, and Jett has to return to his craft.
5. Too old to die young

"Drive" and "Neon Demon" director Nicholas Winding Refn presents a 10-episode project. The plot tells about the detective of the Los Angeles police (Miles Teller) and the criminal world of the city, in which hired killers turn into samurai. As a surprise for video game fans: Hideo Kojima starred in the series.
6. Euphoria

- Premiere date: June 17.
A remake of the Israeli TV series of the same name is dedicated to the girl Ryu (Zendaya). She is 17 years old and she is a liar and a drug addict. The series will tell a story about drugs, sex, trauma, social media, love and friendship.
7. City on a hill

- USA, 2019.
- Premiere date: June 17.
The series, which was produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, is set in Boston in the 90s. The city is filled with criminals and mired in corruption and racism, and the police are unable to solve these problems. That all changes with the arrival of a new district attorney who joins forces with the FBI veteran. Together they start fighting crime.
8. Loudest voice

Russell Crowe in stunning makeup plays the founder and former head of Fox News Roger Ayles. The plot covers the period from the founding of the TV channel to the scandal when Ayles was forced to retire due to allegations of sexual harassment.

A young woman wakes up unconscious in a park in London, surrounded by the lifeless bodies of strangers. It is revealed that she works in the British Secret Service, which investigates paranormal activity, and regularly clashes with opponents from the underworld.

The fantastic anthology returns to the three-part format of the first seasons. The new episodes will tell about a taxi driver who took his client hostage, a meeting of two college friends, and a girl who bought a robot with the voice of her favorite pop star. As always, the stories will focus on the impact of technology on human life.

The third season of the dystopian series again sends the viewer to the totalitarian state of Gilead, where the maids are forced to bear children for their masters. But this time, June Osborne (Elisabeth Moss) is preparing a coup, gathering powerful allies for this.
13. The last candidate

After the death of the president and all his deputies, the post of head of state is forced to take the "last candidate" - an insignificant government employee who is always in a safe place. He also has to deal with world conspiracies.
14. Big Little Lies

Although the first season of Big Little Lies was a complete story based on the book, the project was extended. The second season will be devoted to the later life of the heroines, as well as to Perry Wright's mother, who decided to come to her grandchildren. She will be played by Meryl Streep. Unfortunately, the director Jean-Marc Vallee remained only in the role of the producer of the project.

The creator of Choir and American Horror Story Ryan Murphy continues to talk about the rise of the queer and LGBT community in New York in the 80s, as well as the emergence of the underground culture of queer balls. And all this, of course, is bright, with music and real drama.
16. Krypton

Based on DC comics characters, this project is set in Krypton, Superman's homeworld. In the center of events is his grandfather, who is trying to restore the honor of his family and save the monastery from death. In the sequel, he will face many famous villains such as Brainiac, Doomsday and Lobo.
