Anki flashcards that you can create using words from Lingualeo will help you quickly learn English.
Why Anki and Lingualeo are needed
Anki is a program that allows you to learn any information (foreign words, traffic signs, sign language, guitar chords) according to the forgetting curve. You repeat words not arbitrarily, but when your memory is most receptive to them, and you evaluate whether it was easy to remember them. Based on your answers, the program will suggest a card with a word at the right time.
The Lingualeo service allows you to immediately send unfamiliar words for study when reading the original text, saving them in your own dictionary along with the pronunciation, image, transcription of the word and the context in which it is used.
But what happens when you take advantage of the two platforms? After all, you can take words from Lingualeo along with all your media and information and use Anki's resources to memorize them.
There are already several ready-made solutions for this task, but they all require many additional steps. The user independently needs to create post models, card templates, add CSS styles, and separately upload media files.
In addition, they are all executed either as a separate program, for example LinguaGet, or as add-ons to the browser, which is also not very convenient.
How to create Anki flashcards using the Lingualeo database
In an ideal situation, we would like the user to be able to get new cards directly from Anki without taking any action other than entering a username and password.
For this purpose, we have created an add-on for Anki Import from Lingualeo. It has two advantages:
- Cross-platform. Your operating system is not important. The add-on will run wherever Anki is running, right from the program menu.
-
Simplicity. All you need to do is log in. The add-on will download and create cards, sounds, images, context and transcription.
Cards are created in two copies: "English - Russian" and "Russian - English" for training forward and backward translation.
In addition, the add-on is completely free and contains no ads.
How to install the add-on
Installation is carried out in a few mouse clicks:
- Go to the plugin page on the Anki Add-ons Forum.
- Copy the code from the blue box in the Download section.
- Open Anki on your computer. In Tools → Add-ons → Browse & Install, paste the copied code.
How to use the add-on
After restarting Anki, a new Import from Lingualeo item will appear in the Tools menu. Enter your username and password for the site and click "Import". If you want to import only those words that you did not have time to learn, check the Unstudied Only box.
Be patient. Importing 1,000 words takes approximately 10 minutes and depends on the size of the audio and image files.
After that, you can sync your Anki collection to any device.
The created flashcards will allow you to memorize English words using the spaced repetition method without any extra effort.

Many corporate email services allow you to include requests for the recipient to read an email and return a notification to the sender. Unfortunately, Gmail still doesn't include this handy feature by default, but you can fix the problem with a dedicated Chrome extension.
