If you are used to memorizing new information by drawing incomprehensible associations, then do not listen to others. Research by the journal Applied Cognitive Psychology has proven that scribbling is one of the best ways to learn new things.
Any of my drawings can be called scribbles. And not because I am aware that this is a good way to memorize information, but simply because I cannot draw.
When I was still in school, we had drawing lessons. I did nothing on them, and my mother did my homework. Computerization has brought changes to the school curriculum, and drawing lessons are canceled in many schools. I would say that this is good, but not everything is so simple.
The author of the book, Milton Glaser, believes that when you draw an object, the brain becomes extremely attentive to it. As a result, he is better able to remember information and see details that might go unnoticed.
Moreover, drawing with a pen or pencil on paper is not the same as drawing on a computer. According to a 2009 study, those who scribble on paper reproduce the information they sketched 29% better than those who tried to memorize it in other ways. And this is another reason why there are so many proponents of brainstorming. While many consider the technique to be controversial, some aspects of it, such as sketching and structuring information, can help in the thought process.
Another reason to associate information with pictures is that there are no “professional scribblers”. This means that no matter how well you draw, the process will still have an effect. So is Sunny Brown, author of The Doodle Revolution:
Use scribbles and sketches as a tool to get a different perspective.

Brown herself began to memorize information through drawing from childhood, drawing in a notebook. The realization that this is an effective way came later when she worked for the consulting company The Grove. In 2008, she launched a creative agency and coined the term doodling to define this way of memorizing information.
The problem with sketches is that the older we get, the less pleasure we get from the process itself. The illustrator also uses this method in his work. However, its main idea is that you enjoy what you paint. Ignoring the quality of the drawing and its usefulness.
