Extension cords spoil the interior, but you can do without them. It is enough to correctly calculate the number of outlets during the repair.
Ideally, each appliance needs a separate socket. Therefore, by counting the number of devices that can be used in the apartment, you will get the required minimum of sockets. But just in case, it is better to add to this figure 2–3 connectors in reserve for each room. You will get something like this …
The corridor
Most often, you can see devices such as Wi-FI routers, telephones, irons, intercoms and electric doorbells in the corridors. If none of this list is directly connected to the mains (like some doorphones and doorbells), we will need at least five outlets. We add one more, if we need a router for the second provider, and a couple of spare slots.
We get about eight sockets for the corridor.
Living room
TV, game and TV consoles, audio system, lamps and charging points for gadgets near the sofa and each armchair - all these are traditional elements of living rooms. There are at least 10 sockets per room. Let's add one for the aquarium and two more spare ones.
Bottom line: about 13 outlets for the living room.
Bedroom
Let's take a bedroom for two people. For comfortable reading before going to bed, there should be lamps on both sides of the bed. Connectors for charging gadgets will not interfere with them. A slot for an electric alarm clock and, of course, a couple of spare ones can also come in handy.
In total, there are up to eight outlets for the bedroom.
Workroom
A room or separate corner for work and study is usually a jumble of office equipment. Therefore, it is characterized by a high concentration of outlets. The list of familiar devices for this place most often includes a monitor and a system unit (or laptop), speakers, a printer, and a desk lamp.
Of course, you can't do without charging points and spare slots for additional monitors and other equipment you need.
We get about 10 sockets for the workplace.
Bathroom and toilet
There may be a boiler, washer and dryer. In addition to stationary equipment, hair dryers, razors and other types of portable devices are used. It is also worth remembering illuminated mirrors and underfloor heating systems, which may also require mains power connectors.
Bottom line: seven outlets for the bathroom and toilet should be enough for your head.
Kitchen
Another room with a high density of electrical appliances per square meter. A refrigerator, stove, hood, dishwasher and other large household appliances are usually placed here. In addition, it is difficult to imagine a kitchen without numerous tabletop appliances such as a microwave oven, multicooker and kettle.
Thus, it is worth planning at least 10 outlets for the kitchen.
What else do you need to know
When thinking about the number of outlets, do not forget about the vacuum cleaner. So that cleaning does not cause problems, it is advisable to have an additional connector near the door in each room. And if the rooms are very spacious, then there are two connectors at different ends.
In addition, it is worth discussing with the electricians in advance all the details of installing the outlets. This is especially true of the location and type of connectors for each specific device. So you will be able to comply with safety rules when placing refrigerators, ovens and other equipment that requires special conditions for connecting to the network.
