Pomodoro is one of the most popular productivity techniques. We have written more than once about why it is effective and how to use it. There are applications for working with Pomodoro for, Android and. Recently I came across a great timer for Mac too, so I decided to talk about it, since the application is really decent.

The app is called Tadam. This is a timer not only for working with the "tomato" technique, but also for rest. Tadam settles in the menu bar at the top and can be invoked by clicking on the icon or by pressing the Shift + Command + T keyboard shortcut.

You will be immediately prompted to enter the time you want to work. After pressing the Go button, the timer will start counting down. I liked the fact that with a keyboard shortcut you can not only turn on the application, but also control its work.

For example, the keyboard shortcut Command + P starts or pauses the timer. Command + E lets you change the time, while Command +. - stop the timer.

When the time set on the timer ends, a dark screen will appear in front of you, hinting that you need to take a short or long break. The break time is also indicated by you.

The screen will sit on top of all applications, interfering with your work. However, if you feel a wild urge to work, then you can close it.

Tadam is convenient first of all because it takes no more than a few seconds to start the timer, then you can immediately concentrate on your work. The app is always on the menu bar, so you don't have to launch it every time.
