Fortnite and PUBG are some of the most played games on the planet. They have hundreds of millions of registered users, and these numbers continue to grow rapidly. This is all thanks to the battle royale genre in which these projects are carried out.

Battle Royale is a trend, and therefore new games in this genre come out with enviable consistency. Many of them do not grab stars from the sky, but there are also no less interesting than their progenitors.

1. Cuisine Royale

The game appeared as an April Fool's joke, but immediately gained popularity among fans of the battle royale. The project is very similar to Fortnite, but instead of normal weapons, it contains kitchen utensils. The pans act as helmets, and the waffle iron acts as a bulletproof vest.

Despite the comic quality, Cuisine Royale stands up to the competition: it looks great and is highly optimized. Matches in the game are fast because only 30 players can fit on the battlefield. Also here is "the most honest loot box system": they are free, and the contents are known in advance.

So far, the project does not cost a dime, but on June 25, most likely, it will become paid. This will allow the developers to cover the costs of the servers and continue to improve the game.

2. Realm Royale

What if Epic Games decided to release a fantasy RPG? Probably, it would have turned out to be Realm Royale. The main difference between the game and other projects in the genre is the class system, which allows you to play as a magician or, for example, a knight.

Each class has its own abilities. Mages can throw fireballs, and hunters can shoot from a bow. Therefore, building a team in Realm Royale must be approached wisely.

The emphasis in the project is on creating new equipment. Forges are scattered around the map, which make it possible to improve weapons and skills. The battlefield is quite large, so you can move around on a horse.

3. H1Z1

The project was released before Fortnite and PUBG, but the release on PlayStation 4 and the new Auto Royale mode breathed new life into it. In general, the game is similar to its competitors: in it you also land on the island and start looking for weapons and supplies in order to survive.

In the main mode, there is a transport, but the players also have a mode in which it is impossible to get out of the car. There can be a maximum of 30 cars on the map (four people in each). H1Z1 is fast enough as it is, but in the car battle royale, the intensity is pushed to the limit.

4. Rules of Survival

Both Fortnite and PUBG are available on mobile, but this was not always the case. Rules of Survival was one of the first and most successful games of the genre available on a smartphone. There is also a PC version.

The project may not seem too original, but it has an advantage. The game was originally created for mobile phones, so the controls and interface in it are sharpened for touch screens.

It is noteworthy that up to 300 players can take part in one match. All this is on a huge map. Rules of Survival was released last year, but the developer is still constantly updating it. One of the latest innovations is the first-person mode, which makes the battles even more intense.

5. Darwin Project

In a sense, any battle royale game is a survival game. But the Darwin Project takes the most literal approach to this issue. The action takes place in the Canadian forests of the near future, where 10 players need to defend themselves not only from each other, but also from the deadly cold.

You can also take on the role of director. You will be able to place nuclear bombs and gravitational storms on the map, as well as make life difficult for players in other ways. And in the Darwin Project, you can vote for which of the players will get, for example, bonus healing.

6. Radical Heights

In Radical Heights, inspired by an 80s TV show, cash is everything. By fighting, you earn money for which you can change the appearance of the character and buy weapons.

The concept of the project is very interesting, but the game, unfortunately, is crude. Developer Radical Heights recently announced the closure, and it's unclear how long the game will last. So play while you can.
