15 TV series about post-apocalypse: from a pandemic to a power outage

Leichfacker has collected projects dedicated to the attack of zombies, deadly viruses and other troubles that can lead to the collapse of civilization.

1. Battlestar Galaktika

12 colony planets inhabited by humans were attacked by Cylon robots. The few survivors set off on a journey in the Galaktika spaceship. They dream of finding the legendary thirteenth colony called Earth.

The history of this project began back in 1978, when the original film was released, followed by a series. In 2003, the action was restarted, filming a full-length remake, and then continued the plot already on television.

2. The walking dead

The series, based on the comic book series of the same name, tells the story of a group of people who are trying to survive during a zombie apocalypse. The heroes have to unite and help each other. But often the more dangerous enemies are not the walking dead, but other people.

In some places, this project looks more like a drama about human relations in difficult conditions than an action movie about the apocalypse. The audience accepted the first seasons with delight. But gradually the central actors began to leave the series, and the ratings are falling lower and lower.

3. Travelers

To the history of the gloomy and harsh world, they added a lot of oriental martial arts in the spirit of films from the 80s and 90s. The result is a great thriller for three seasons.

5. Jericho

Jericho tried to shut down after the first season due to low ratings, but fans pushed for a sequel. True, after that the project lasted only a year.

6.12 monkeys

This series is based on the famous Bruce Willis movie, and its beginning largely copies the plot of the original. But over the four seasons, the story has certainly expanded a lot.

7. Hundred

Terrestrial civilization was destroyed by atomic war. All survivors live on a ship that flies in the orbit of the planet. 97 years after the disaster, a hundred juvenile delinquents are sent to the surface of the Earth. They have to check how livable the place is.

Despite the fact that many of the main characters have changed in the project over the years, the series is still on air and has already been renewed for a seventh season.

8. Survivors

The pandemic of the virus, dubbed the "European flu", has wiped out most of the world's population. The plot tells about one of the few groups of survivors who have to fight to the death for food and the remaining benefits of civilization.

There is also a 1975 series of the same name with a very similar plot. But the authors of the new version claim that they have removed a completely independent project. Although most still consider it a free remake.

9. The last ship

The crew of the US Navy destroyer Nathan James was on the sea for a long time, being isolated from the rest of the world. Now the heroes have to look for the remnants of civilization, and then fight people who have declared themselves a new power.

10. Colony

In the not too distant future, humanity has been invaded by aliens. Cities are now called blocks, and residents have been deprived of almost all their rights. The action takes place in Los Angeles, where a puppet leadership obeying aliens rules. But even in an environment of total control, people want to revolt.

It is curious that recently the film "Battle for Earth" was released on the big screens, the plot of which is very similar to "The Colony".

11. The last man on Earth

12. Collapsed skies

One of the most unusual scenarios of the apocalypse is a massive animal attack on humans. But in modern realities, this version looks very topical.

14. Nation Z

The show started out as a cheap copy of The Walking Dead. But viewers quickly fell in love with him for his wit and dynamism. Unlike the original, zombies are constantly being killed here in the most unusual and sophisticated ways.

15. Revolution
