It's not too late to create a New Year's mood at home or in the office. Jewelry can not be bought, but made from improvised means: paper, cotton wool and even orange peel. We have prepared instructions together with.
Garlands
1. A garland of snowflakes
What do you need
- A4 paper.
- .
- A printer.
- Thread or fishing line.
- Glue.
- Scissors and a stationery knife.
How to do
Print the snowflake patterns on a printer, cut out a circle and fold it four times - you get 1/12 of a circle. Carefully cut the snowflakes along the outline. Unfold the workpieces and smooth them with an iron. Use glue or double-sided tape to attach them to the thread. Hang over a chandelier, curtain, or window.
2. New Year's ballerinas
Such a garland can be an independent decoration for a window or curtain, as well as an additional figurine for a garland of snowflakes. Just replace ordinary snowflakes with ballerinas in some places and secure them with glue or double-sided tape.
What do you need
- A4 paper.
- .
- .
- A printer.
- Thread or fishing line.
- Scissors.
- Glue.
We have prepared templates for paper decorations together with Canon. They can be printed quickly and economically with a multifunction inkjet printer. Built-in ink tanks allow you to print large volumes of documents: you only have to refill the cartridge after 12,000 pages.
3. Garland of marshmallows or cotton wool
What do you need
- Fishing line.
- Needle.
- Marshmallows or cotton wool.
How to do
Prepare the fishing line: cut to the desired length, thread it through the needle and make a knot at the end. Place the marshmallows on the line and distribute over the entire length. This garland can also be made with cotton wool. To do this, form balls of different sizes, trying not to wrinkle the cotton so much so that it remains airy. Then secure them with glue or double-sided tape to the fishing line and hang them vertically so that the balls float in the air.
4. Garland of figurines and pine branches
What do you need
- Thick or craft paper.
- .
- .
- Pine twigs, cones.
- Twine or tape.
- Decorative clothespins.
- Scissors.
- Hole puncher.
How to do
Print and cut out the figure templates. Use a hole punch to punch holes in them and thread the tape. Spread the toys along the entire length of the tape and attach pine twigs and cones to the garland.
To create even more coziness, use decorative clothespins to attach your family photos and memorable events of the year to the garland. This technique also works in the office: you can print joint photos of colleagues, hard work and a crazy corporate party, and on December 29, take stock of the year and spend it with champagne.
The printer prints not only documents, but also color images. Load photo paper and print funny photos of family, friends and colleagues directly from your smartphone.
5. Christmas garland-lanterns
What do you need
- A4 paper.
- .
- Scissors.
- Glue stick.
- Double sided tape.
- Thread or fishing line.
- .
How to do
- Print out templates and cut out the shapes. For a garland, you need 24 parts of each type of flashlight and 126 stars.
- To make a voluminous toy, take one piece of the flashlight and grease one side with glue. Glue the same piece to it. One flashlight should be composed of six identical parts. When one piece remains, make a small loop of thread and attach it to the glue. The loop is needed in order to hang the toys on the fishing line. Then glue the first and sixth parts of the toy. Repeat the same for the rest of the lanterns. In total, you will have eight flashlights - four of each type.
- In the same way, make 21 volumetric stars, but do not glue the first and sixth parts. Before doing this, pass the line through the three stars and make a loop. Then glue the parts together.
- Now pull the thread through all the loops to make the garland.
6. Garland of orange peel
What do you need
- Orange peel.
- Cookie cutters.
- Needle with thread.
- Iron.
- Thick paper or fabric.
How to do
Use molds to cut figurines out of the orange peel. Smooth them out with an iron, placing them under cloth or paper (so as not to burn the figures and ruin the iron). Use a needle to make holes in the toys and thread them. The garland can be additionally decorated with ribbon, pine branches and cones.
7. Garland of paper tartlets
What do you need
- Multi-colored paper tartlets.
- Glue.
- Star-shaped sequins.
- Twine or tape.
- Scotch.
How to do
Fold the paper mold to form a triangle. Lubricate the upper corners of the triangles with glue and lay them on top of each other, forming a Christmas tree. Decorate toys with sequins (you can cut from colored cardboard). Then tape the Christmas trees to the string or tape.
Postcards and packaging
8. Volumetric New Year card
Giving postcards to colleagues, partners and family is more of a formality than a show of attention. But if you make a postcard with your own hands, then the value of the gift will immediately increase.
What do you need
- Two sheets of cardboard or thick A5 paper.
- Gift paper (you can take colored candy wrappers).
- .
- .
- Glue stick.
- Scissors.
- Ribbon.
How to do
- Print the template on a printer and make cuts along the dotted line. Peel back the rectangles to create volume.
- Cut out rectangles of the same size from gift paper and glue them on the protruding parts.
- Cut six long thin rectangles of colored paper to form the bows on the gift boxes. Stick them on and let dry.
- Join the blank with a solid sheet of green cardboard. Stick a bow.
- Sign the card and decorate the white background with colored stars.
The same postcards can be made with voluminous Christmas trees. The template for printing can be downloaded.
Instead of green cardboard, you can use a Christmas picture. In order not to buy it, find a suitable one on the Internet and print on matte photo paper. The printer supports printing on various types of photo paper, including professional. This will be the cover of your postcard. Glue it to the gift blank and let dry.
9. Reindeer
What do you need
- Colored office paper or kraft paper.
- Scissors.
- Glue stick.
- .
- .
How to do
Wrap the gift box in craft or colored paper. Download a template for printing, cut out the parts and glue to the box.
When buying a printer before January 20, 2019, you can get back up to 100% of its cost. The conditions are simple: register for and wait for the drawing. Five winners will receive money back to their bank card.
10. Nose of yarn
What do you need
- Kraft paper.
- Black cardboard.
- Yarn.
- Dry twigs.
- Scissors.
- Super glue.
How to do
Pack the box in kraft paper. Mark where the eyes and horns will be. Cut the eyes out of black cardboard and carefully stick them on the box. Then attach the horns from the twigs. The hardest part is to make a pom-pom, but in fact it is quite simple too: wind the yarn around two fingers, tie and cut. To make it clearer, watch the video.
Glue the resulting pompom to the box - the original packaging is ready.
Christmas decorations
11. Paper plate angel
What do you need
- White paper plate.
- Disposable plastic spoon.
- Blue paint.
- Yellow colored paper.
- Wire.
- Tinsel.
- Black marker.
- Scissors.
- PVA glue or double-sided tape.
How to do
- Paint the plate with blue paint and let dry. Then cut it into three pieces so that one is smaller than the other two. This will be the body of an angel. The other two parts are wings.
- Take the body of the angel and glue the wings on the seamy side. If the plate is smooth and does not hold glue, use double-sided tape.
- Stick a spoon along the torso. The convex side should be on the front of the toy - this will be the face of the angel.
- Cut two small clouds out of colored paper - one larger and the other smaller. Glue them to the spoon: a larger cloud from the wrong side, a smaller one from the front, to the convex part of the spoon.
- Draw the eyes and mouth on the spoon.
- Make a halo of wire, wrap with tinsel and attach to a spoon.
12. Snowman
What do you need
- Thick paper or thin cardboard.
- Orange and beige colored paper.
- Hunting match.
- Toy bucket (can be replaced with brown colored paper).
- Blue ribbon.
- Scissors.
- PVA glue or double-sided tape.
How to do
1. Cut out three templates according to the diagram. Bend along the lines and glue. You should end up with three different sized parallelepipeds.
2. Connect the parts together and draw buttons, mouth and eyes on the body.
3. Make a carrot nose out of orange colored paper: cut out a small square and roll it into a cone, and then glue it.
4. Glue a hunting match to the body, and make rods out of beige colored paper.
5. Attach the bucket in the head and tie a blue ribbon bow around the neck.
13. Pasta Christmas trees
What do you need
- Shell pasta.
- Macaroni bows.
- Cardboard.
- Spray paint (gold, silver, green).
- Red varnish.
- PVA glue or superglue.
- Glue gun (without it).
How to do
- Make a cone from a square piece of cardboard. Vary the size of the workpiece depending on what size the tree you want to get.
- On the cone, mark the distance between the rows of shells to make the toy neat.
- Glue the shells, starting from the bottom row, and fasten a bow at the top of the head. Leave it on for a few hours to freeze the parts.
- Cover the toy with paint, highlight the bow with red varnish.
14. Bulky paper toy
What do you need
- Colored paper.
- Scissors.
- Glue stick or PVA.
- Thread or twine.
How to do
- Cut out six or eight (will be more voluminous) circles of the same size from colored paper. Optionally, you can make a one-color or multi-colored toy.
- Fold the circles in half with the colored side inward and glue the halves together.
- When one circle remains, form a loop of thread and attach it to the inside of the toy, and then glue the last piece.
By this principle, toys of different shapes can be made: in the form of stars, ovals or Christmas trees.
