Large mirror

Mirrors visually enlarge the room, and a very large mirror is guaranteed to expand the space.

Chest of drawers bed

In Russian apartments, especially in old ones, there are enough of such narrow niches, into which we usually squeeze sofas. But a bed based on drawers, firstly, is more comfortable and more durable, and secondly, it is a great way to create additional storage for all sorts of important things like a collection of shoes or bed linen. And from prying eyes, the bed can be covered with curtains.

Dead zone

The nook near the door is usually not needed by anyone but dust. But in vain, this is a whole square meter of area! You can plug in a chaise longue there and organize a dining area.

Roll-out racks

Almost no one ever notices that space is lost between the wall and the refrigerator. Yes, there is not much of it. But we are not the kind of people to throw ourselves around. A narrow rack on wheels requires almost no space, but holds a lot, for example, a hundred cans with summer cottages.

Windowsill

A very wide window sill can become a narrow table. However, to have a snack, sit with a glass of red or read a book, it will be quite enough.

Ceiling cabinets

If the apartment is small, you need to use any space. For example, the wall above the door, which is probably not busy with anything special. You can hang shelves or small lockers there, especially if you're lucky with the ceiling height.

By the way, the wall around the door can also be used effectively. Small shelves around the perimeter of the doorway solve the issue of storing dishes or books - at least partially.

The closet door is the perfect place to store all sorts of household items. And organizing such a storage is as easy as shelling pears: fix baskets or small buckets made of tin or plastic on the door.

Balcony

It is a crime to use an insulated balcony to store bicycles and broken chairs. A bedroom can be arranged there. Of course, the floor must be warm, and the double-glazed windows must be solid.

Table by the bed

A bedside table is a handy thing, but a luxury for a small home. In small apartments, any detail should be multifunctional. Therefore, put a small table instead of a curbstone: at night you can put a glass of water on it and put an unfinished book, and during the day it will be a full-fledged workplace.
