To connect to the network, you just need to point the camera at the barcode.
Passing the password to friends so that they can connect to the guest network is a whole business. You need to say the name of the access point, dictate the password, then check it. And so several times for each device. And if you change your password, you have to do it all over again.
Fortunately, QR codes can be used to share not only links, but also passwords. To do this, you need to generate a special code that will encrypt the network name, password, and connection commands recognized by an iOS or Android mobile device. This can be done in the following way.
How to create a QR code with a password
To create a QR code, it is most convenient to use a ready-made generator like QiFi. Although, if you wish, you can make the code manually and add the line
WIFI: S:; T:; P:;;
in which the required parameters will be indicated. But it is difficult. It is easier to use a ready-made solution.
1. Go to the QiFi website using this link.
2. Fill in the network name and password.
3. Specify the type of encryption and check the Hidden option if the network is hidden.
4. Click Generate.
5. Save the code as a-p.webp
How to connect to the network
Now that we have a printed QR code or a picture with a code on a smartphone, all that remains is to show it to guests and ask them to scan it on their devices.
To do this, you need to open a standard camera and point it at the QR code.
The system recognizes the action to connect to the network and displays a standard dialogue. Immediately after confirmation, the smartphone will connect to Wi-Fi.
