How digitalization will affect education, who will help students choose a profession and whether new subjects will appear in the lesson schedule. Together with the expert of the national project "" we figured out how the modern school will develop.

Classes will be based on digital technology and smart solutions

Education, like all spheres of life, will not escape the impact of digitalization in the next two to three decades. New gadgets and technologies will appear at the school: 3D lessons, virtual and augmented reality, cloud services, 3D printers, robotic constructors, electronic whiteboards, video conferencing systems, and finally, artificial intelligence.

The "", which can be called the prototype of the school of the future, is already working now. Metropolitan teachers use interactive applications and lesson scripts, cloud storage and digital labs. And schoolchildren learn to create their own information and IT products.

Our students have long been accustomed to courses in robotics, circuitry and programming. The guys develop projects and present them at the highest level - city scientific and practical conferences.

For example, a student of our school became the winner in the last academic year. He presented a program that, using artificial intelligence, recognizes from a photograph whether a person is wearing a medical mask.

However, online education will not go entirely and completely. Of course, if we are talking about knowledge, then everything can be taught using remote technologies. Case studies and group work have long made it possible to avoid cheating and master the material of the program. But school is not only about lessons.

Experts agree that distance learning cannot completely supplant face-to-face training. The school is engaged not only in teaching, it also performs another, no less important function - it educates the future generation.

Behind the monitor screen, it is more difficult for a child to go through socialization, develop emotional intelligence, and learn to interact with classmates. It is easier and more efficient to develop flexible skills offline.

Students will be helped to better understand themselves and choose a future profession

Schools are gradually beginning to pay attention to career guidance, and in the future, education will change towards even greater individualization. Psychologists will work with students to help children learn about their strengths, points of growth and interests. Already today in Moscow there are projects aimed at acquaintance with the future profession.

One of them - "". Within the framework of the project, students attend leading universities and master classes of scientists, participate in business games, festivals, trainings and quests, and try themselves in the role of one or another specialist. The scope of professions is huge: IT, engineering, transport, medicine, history, art, space, sports and much more. Everyone can find an option to their liking.

Another significant project is pre-professional classes that are opening in Moscow schools: medical, engineering, academic, pedagogical, cadet, IT classes and others. This is how high school students get to know their future profession in advance. Participation in conferences and practice-oriented events, visits to specialized universities and companies of a particular specialization help schoolchildren decide on the choice of life path.

The pre-vocational education project in Moscow has been operating for five years. In the classroom, children get acquainted with promising scientific research, study methods of genome sequencing and neurotechnology, master professional programs for 3D modeling and prototyping, study modern programming languages and data analysis methods. To do this, we have all the necessary resources in schools: digital laboratories, 3D printers and scanners, simulators for practicing first aid skills, experimental physics kits and other modern equipment.

Currently, high school students can choose to study in an academic, medical, engineering, Kurchatov, cadet, new pedagogical or IT class. This year, another prestigious area is opening - media classes. They will study schoolchildren who have successfully passed the entrance examinations and dream of connecting their professional activities with the field of media communication.

For employers, not only knowledge and skills in a particular industry are important, but also the ability to communicate, work in a team, and create projects. Schools of the future will focus on this. Some educational institutions have already gotten rid of the standard arrangement of desks in classrooms, when children sit one after another. Schoolchildren are placed so that they can communicate and create collective projects.

It is also important that students know how to independently organize work: assign roles, take responsibility for part of the assignment, calculate time and other resources. Therefore, the teacher of the future will only guide the children and supervise the process from afar.

Items will become more versatile and practical

The traditional division of subjects into natural and humanitarian subjects will probably remain, but new lessons will appear at the intersection of spheres. It is easy to imagine, for example, that the school will teach how to become a successful blogger and create viral content or programming smartphone apps.

We prepare students for life and, naturally, we cannot but take into account the demands of the market. For example, there is the Atlas of New Professions, a wonderful tool for a modern teacher. My colleagues and I, relying on him, simulate tasks. They are dedicated to mastering skills that are in demand today and will be in demand tomorrow.

For example, at the end of the last academic year, together with teachers of computer science and geography, we conducted a lesson. There, the students tried themselves in the role of digital journalists and designers who develop an advertising campaign and identity for the regions of Russia.

For some time, a tendency towards specialization prevailed in society: the narrower the direction a person possesses and the deeper his knowledge, the more valuable it is for the employer. But the era of universality is gradually coming, when one and the same specialist must have skills and knowledge in different areas. On the one hand, you need to be a top-class professional in your field. On the other hand, it is important to be flexible, adaptive, be able to accept the challenges of the time, expand knowledge and work with related areas.

Today, in an era of convergent learning, the boundaries between disciplines are blurring. Therefore, in literature lessons, for example, I am not only a philologist, but also a bit of a historian and art critic. Knowledge of English helps in Russian lessons.

The ability to draw parallels between subjects is necessary, this allows you to show students a single picture of the world. Likewise, my colleagues are: a biologist is always a little physicist and chemist, a geographer - a specialist in economics, politics and ecology.

Today, knowing how to use a computer, smartphone and the Internet is almost as important as reading and writing skills. And in the future, digital literacy and even programming may become full-fledged school subjects.

Any narrowly focused disciplines must necessarily be within the framework of additional education so that the child can study them. But the choice should always remain with the student and his parents.

Not all guys want to be programmers, and the IT professions of the future are not limited to. It is important to take into account the child's desire and give him the opportunity to master the profession that is close to him.

Digitalization affects not only students, but also teachers. The school of the future will demand new knowledge, skills and competencies from teachers. The digital environment will help educators improve their skills, create new formats of educational materials and share experiences with each other.

The position of the modern teacher has already changed in relation to the position of the teacher of the past generation. Reality is changing, and we are changing with it. Previously, the teacher was almost the only bearer of knowledge for the student, but today, in the era of the dominance of the Internet and information, this is not the case. Children now have a wide choice: watch a video of the blogger they like, read a scientific article, listen to an audio lecture by a scientist, perform an interactive test or play an educational application.

Therefore, the teacher becomes not so much a source as a conductor in the world of information. He teaches how to work with data, verify them, evaluate the quality, read solid and discontinuous texts, understanding their meaning, highlighting the main and the secondary. And of course, it is important for any teacher to develop their flexible skills, because it is impossible to teach a child what you cannot do yourself.

In addition, the school of the future will be able to solve the problems facing modern education: the introduction of advanced technologies in the learning process, access to quality education for children with disabilities, the uneven development of children of the same age, and others.

Many of these problems have already been resolved in Moscow and large cities. And thanks to the national project "" schools of the future appear all over Russia. Right now, a digital educational environment is developing in the regions: high-speed Internet is being provided to schools in even remote cities, laptops, interactive whiteboards and other modern equipment are being installed in classrooms.

Digital educational content is also being introduced - services are being created that help teachers conduct classes, eliminate routine paperwork and simplify interaction with students and parents. For example, "" is a free platform for learning and communication.

Thanks to the national project, the child can choose a specialty while still at school, as well as take part in and. In addition, the national project gives children the opportunity to study for free in modern ones, and parents - to consult with.
