I have more than once confessed to the readers of "MacRadar" my love for board games. My collection of desktops in paper and electronic form is constantly growing, and I try to tell you about the most interesting representatives of board games for iOS. Today I want to present to you a selection of the most interesting board games. They are not ranked in order of importance or interest, they are all good. Each of them suits its time, mood and company.
Carcassonne ()
The rules of this game can be easily explained to any beginner. The main thing is to score as many points as possible, creating a world around one single card. You have to build castles, roads, churches, as well as capture the fields and lock up the opponent's little men. There are many interesting additions in Carcassonne that diversify the game and bring new colors. Outwardly, the game is very similar to the paper version and leaves a very pleasant impression.
Ticket to Ride ()
Another great game for any company. The rules may seem complicated at first glance. It is enough to play a game and everything will fall into place. Your task is to build paths connecting cities, complete tasks and gain as many points as possible. The game is bright, atmospheric, it contains various maps (America, Europe, Asia) and add-ons. Playing Ticket to Ride is a pleasure, especially in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Monopoly
The most famous board game, a real classic that we all played as children. Monopoly is perfectly implemented for iOS: what are, for example, animated figures in the form of hats, dogs and cars. Your task is to ruin your opponents and remain the sole owner of everything and everyone. The only drawback of the game is that you completely rely on luck in it. And fortune sometimes does not turn in the place we would like it to be.
Risk ()
And this is a more serious game. Before you is a political map of the world, and your task is to destroy rivals and capture all countries on our planet. There is also some chance in the game, but in order to win, you need to develop your strategy and quickly react to the events taking place. I don't have a paper version of Risk, but they say that one game can take as long as six hours due to the constant throwing of dice and the placement of soldiers on the map. In the iOS version, you will not think about it and waste extra time. All actions are performed automatically, you just have to indicate who to attack and where to defend the territory.
Le Havre ()
Well, now we are smoothly moving on to economic strategies. It's hard for me to decide which of this company is the most difficult board. So I'll just tell you about them in random order. Le Havre is an excellent example of an economic strategy with many nuances and varied buildings. The task is to score as many points as possible, and for this you will have to look for food, build buildings, extract valuable materials and take all this stuff to distant countries.
Agricola
Another great strategy from the creator of Le Havre. Here events take place not in the port, but on the farm. We equip a small farm, raise livestock and harvest crops. And along the way, we are trying to make our family the most prosperous in the area. A wide variety of farm activities and items makes the game unique and inimitable. No wonder Agricola is in the top ten board games around the world!
Puerto Rico ()
The problem with this game lies only in its rules. They are difficult to understand the first time around and even harder to explain to your friends. Sometimes I explained the rules for 40 minutes, so that I could somehow start the first game. But if you are familiar with economic strategies, you should quickly grasp the essence of Puerto Rico. Your task is to score the maximum possible number of points and overtake your rivals. To do this, you grow various crops, build factories and do trade, like in Le Havre.
Caylus ()
One of the most challenging and interesting games. The share of chance here is reduced to almost zero, which is rarely found in board games. An exceptionally cold calculation and a well-developed strategy are required of you. You can win in Caylus in different ways: expand your city, build a castle, get favors from the king, or focus on gold bars. In general, a real scope for imagination and mind. One of my favorite board games that you can play endlessly.
Small world 2
Here, as in Risk, you must conquer all the territory on the map. But there is not so much land in Small World, which is why the name of the game is logically connected - "Small World". Before the start of the game, you are offered to choose the race for which you will fight. Plus, a special skill is added to each of them, which gives an advantage in battle. Therefore, there are a lot of combinations of "race + skill", and you will have to study them carefully in order to emerge victorious from the battle.
Blokus
A very good game, especially for four players. Your task is to make the last move. You have at your disposal various figures resembling Tetris, which block the field and cut off opponents. Shapes can only be attached to the corners of their own sections. The game is fast, fun, and you can play many games in one evening until you get bored.
Maybe some of your favorite board games didn't make it to my list. I suggest you fix this annoying situation and share your favorites in the comments!
