Retro Games Online is a free catalog of retro games for most classic systems. The list of consoles supported by the site includes NES and SNES, Sega Master System and Genesis. There are also games for less popular arcade systems: for example, Capcom CPS-1, CPS-2 and SNK Neo-Geo.

Among the games that almost anyone will be familiar with is Super Mario Bros. 3, Contra and Sonic The Hedgehog 2. But there are projects that not everyone has heard of: Nightshade, Little Samson, Gargoyles and many others.

The service catalog is huge. If you have found the name of some rarity and want to try it out, you are almost guaranteed to find it on the site.

There are three tabs on the homepage: New Games, Most Played, and Top Rated. When you hover the cursor over the project picture, you will see for which prefix it came out, and by tags you can determine the genre. Below is the rating of the game on the site.

To view all games for a specific gaming system, open the list of categories at the top (Gaming Systems).

If you already know what you want to play, then you can use the search in the upper right corner of the screen. Also on the right side of the main page there is a block with games popular today (Popular Games Today).

How to play

For a comfortable game, it is recommended to use the Google Chrome browser. This is where the emulator works most smoothly, especially if you run some heavy 3D game for the first PlayStation. You will also have to enable Flash and disable the ad blocker.

When the emulator is loaded, click in the center of the screen - where it says Click Here to Play the Game. At the bottom, find the wrench icon to test the controls or customize it for yourself. You can connect a controller: the programs Joy2Key or Xpadder (Windows), Qjoypad (Linux) and Joystick Mapper or Enjoy2 (macOS) are responsible for this. When you're done setting up the controls, you can expand the game to full screen and begin.

The games on the site support saving. Press F5 on your keyboard or Save State on the bottom panel of the emulator to save the progress to a file on your computer. To load it, press F8 or Load State.
