According to numerous reviews of experts and ordinary users, this service is most often referred to as the successor to Google Reader. And this is not at all coincidental: at a time when no one even thought that Google Reader could close, the creators of Feedly carefully polished their service, trying to find something that could entice spoiled users. And it looks like they succeeded.

Despite the fact that Feedly is a long-standing project, it debuted as a service quite recently, and previously existed only as extensions for browsers and applications for various mobile platforms. Feedly cloud complements and completes the existing arsenal of applications, forming a closed and self-contained infrastructure for reading RSS news.

Feedly Cloud does its best not to let go of any Google Reader user rushing about in search of an alternative. For them, right on the start page of the service, there is a “one-button” ability to import all subscriptions. True, at the same time, the developers did not provide for the import function using OPML, which is the standard for rss-readers, but that just … then they will screw it on.

Immediately after logging in and adding your subscriptions, making sure that all your favorite sites are carefully categorized into folders and categories, you can evaluate the Feedly interface. I will say right away - he is gorgeous. Compared to all the previously reviewed services, Feedly Cloud looks a cut taller, more mature and professional. Here you will find different display modes (list, tiles, expanded, magazine), and a choice of themes, and stylish pop-up confirmation requests, and much more, which makes this service pretty damn pleasant to use.

And most importantly - how it all works! Switching between display modes is completely smooth and without delays, opening articles is almost instantaneous, switching between channels is also in a matter of seconds. Bravo, bravo, bravo!

When viewing a separate article, we have the opportunity to add it to the favorites section, which is here called Saved for Later, share it on all popular social networks, and send it by e-mail. From third-party services, integration with bookmarking veteran Delicious, Instapaper and Pocket deferred reading services, as well as "our all" Evernote is implemented. From non-standard functions, it is possible to delete an article (a simple function, but for some reason not implemented anywhere else) and view the full text of the article in a pop-up window. There is also a function to add your own tags, which appear after that in the left navigation pane.

Of course, there are all the standard filtering methods for services of this kind, such as displaying only unread, first new ones or vice versa, marking everything as read or only old entries, and so on. To my surprise, the only thing that I could not find was the search for articles.

In the settings of the service, you can change its options such as displaying the start page, default layout, displaying articles popular with other users, font used, link colors, and so on. I will say right away that there are many settings and the meaning of some of them remained not entirely clear to me, apparently a deeper study of them is required.

In general, we can conclude that the online reader Feedly cloud quite rightly considered the best and most popular. Excellent speed of work, a sharpened and polished interface, a wide range of functions, the presence of browser extensions and mobile applications for all platforms make this service, perhaps, the most correct choice at the present time. Even me, if not for my perverse requirements for the functionality of the rss client, would definitely try Feedly.

Announcement … Don't miss the short summary of the series with a general comparison, rewarding the worthy and censuring the laggards.
