As you know, in iOS 7, Apple provided developers with the MFi SDK, which allows them to create games that can work with special hardware gamepads. The time of simple arcades and puzzles, with which the App Store started, has long passed and modern graphics engines are now using the “matured” hardware of iOS devices with might and main, opening up opportunities for creating more serious titles that are gradually reaching the level of consoles. If you often and a lot play on the iPhone or iPad, but still doubt the advisability of buying an iOS gamepad, due to the lack or a small number of games that support it, in this article I will try to dispel your doubts.

Terraria
Terraria has pretty good touch controls, but still playing on a gamepad is much more convenient and enjoyable. Moving around the game world, battles with opponents, crafting - all this becomes much easier if you use a button gamepad as an input device, rather than a touch screen.
Sky Gamblers: Storm Raiders
One of the most famous "flyers" on iOS, fully supports MFi-controllers and only with their use is fully revealed - controlling your steel bird becomes convenient and enjoyable. Improving your flight skills has never been easier with a touchscreen.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Rockstar has added support for MFi controllers to all of its games and you can now play them just like you did before on consoles and PCs. If you are a fan of the GTA series, then I can recommend that you get an MFi gamepad just for these games - this will more than cover the costs and justify the purchase.
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
The latest arcade races with Sonic's participation have crazy gameplay - rivals and weapons flash from all sides. Steering with the virtual joystick is very inconvenient and you are unlikely to achieve good results. Whether it's a push-button gamepad with an analog stick, which brings usability to the next level.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Although KOTOR is an RPG, the hardware gamepad is also very useful here. Like all serious role-playing games, it contains a lot of dialogues and selection menus, which during the game have to be confirmed by hitting the small on-screen buttons. By using a gamepad, these inconveniences can be avoided. In addition to this, if you are using a SteelSeries Stratus controller, you can even display the picture on a large TV screen and sit comfortably in an easy chair.
Jet car stunts 2
Very cool and driving races. The specificity of the game implies multiple repetition of sections of the track, in case of departure outside its limits (which happens very often). Again, it's much easier to control the car with the precise analog stick and buttons.
Call of Duty: Strike Team
There is no need to talk about the convenience of control with the help of a touchscreen in FPS shooters. PC gamers are constantly trolling their fellow console gamers about which is more comfortable with a mouse or a gamepad. With games on iOS, the situation is completely different and I think no one will argue that a gamepad is much more convenient than a touchscreen with virtual sticks.
Dead trigger 2
A similar situation. An excellent shooter, one of the best on iOS, however, the experience of the game can seriously spoil the touchscreen control. We take a gamepad in hand and everything falls into place.
Star horizon
Space shooter, which is quite convenient to play even with a virtual joystick and buttons, but using a controller will undoubtedly be more convenient. In addition, a hardware gamepad will free up some of the screen space, allowing you to more enjoy the great graphics.
Real Racing 3
The coolest races on iOS, which can rival modern console and PC titles, merge very well because of the controls. Gyroscope and virtual steering wheel are not the same thing as hard buttons and analog stick under your fingertips.
Oceanhorn
A gorgeous RPG with stunning graphics that are simply a sin to overlap with on-screen controls. Many people call the game a clone of Nintendo's Zelda, so be it - the pleasure of passing from this does not diminish, and even more so if you play on a gamepad.
Double dragon trilogy
The game was originally ported from platforms with hardware controls. I just can't imagine how you can play beat-em-ups on the touchscreen (if you just go through the whole game, and not 1-2 levels). There are no options at all - just a gamepad.
