Life Truths You Won't Know About University

Unfortunately, no university in the world will teach you how to succeed and live a happy life. Eight simple tips will help you stay on track and make your dreams come true.

Without higher education, nowhere. After all, you cannot get a good job without a piece of paper that says that you are smart. How many times have you heard such words from parents, relatives, friends of parents who do not share your "enthusiasm" for education?

We spend an average of 16 years side by side with the education system. Primary school, secondary, university. And in the end we are doing something that is not even close to what we were "taught". We go through the same program, study at the same speed, move in the same direction, evaluate progress according to the same criteria … Despite the well-known and generally recognized fact that we are all unique personalities! Pretty controversial, isn't it?

Of course, going to school has its merits: you make lifelong friends, have fun at summer camp, learn to navigate the city if you get to school on your own from an early age.

Apart from the above and a couple more blows to my self-esteem (due to the fact that I did not get the same good grades as my brother, classmates, or cousins), school will have almost no effect on my ability to succeed in life. … But no one told me that most of what I have to learn and take will never come in handy.

Currently, university graduates - specialists, bachelors and masters - either cannot find a job or work for a very modest salary. They leave educational institutions with outdated knowledge, the majority do not strive to improve and live life, revealing their full potential.

How to succeed in life
How to succeed in life

I still remember how confused and confused I was when I graduated from university. I would like the education system to teach me more important things: how to prove myself in order to achieve success in life. Instead of stuffing me with information that needs to be memorized and repeated like a robot. Here are some important life truths that I would like to learn back in school.

1. Find out what makes your heart beat faster

We want to be happy, but we often confuse happiness with comfort or carelessness, so we are content with less, and not with what we actually dreamed of.

Finding your passion is not easy, especially in youth, but try asking yourself: what excites me, what makes me come alive?

Even if you cannot answer this question immediately, it's okay. Just remember to ask yourself more often. And when you find the answer, write it down on paper, direct all efforts and all your time to bring the dream closer, and do not give up until that very moment comes.

2. Wealth has nothing to do with money

We strive to achieve a better life, to become the best version of ourselves, and this has nothing to do with money. The truth is that real wealth is absolutely free and each of us can find it.

Positive attitude, harmonious relationships, freedom, lack of fear, self-exactingness, willingness to share your joy with others, wisdom to understand and accept people, belief in your own abilities or your favorite business - these are several sources of happiness that you don't have to pay for.

3. Stop being afraid

We are constantly worried about how to make the right decision, how not to lose money, and therefore we do not overstep the boundaries of the prohibitions imposed by loved ones or society as a whole. Not to mention the stress that the media has brought to our lives.

Fear paralyzes and prevents us from thinking about anything else that is outside our usual comfort zone.

Fear gets in the way of creativity and often makes us forget about our true passion and dreams. It inhibits any initiative to translate aspirations into reality.

4. Set goals

The goal is not to get a job, but to do something great, be successful, help others achieve their goals, and be happy along the way.

If you do not set goals and do not plan how you will achieve them, dreams will remain unrealizable desires.

5. Having a job doesn't mean you can't be an entrepreneur

There is no one more useful on a team than someone who is completely focused on improving existing practice. Think outside the box, do not mindlessly follow the rules that someone has set before you.

Learning to think in different directions will make you more productive in everything you do, and will help your colleagues and management start thinking that way.

If you are fortunate enough to have a boss who appreciates your initiative, you will be proud that your recommendations are applied and the result is positive change through your input. If you are unlucky with the boss, at least you develop your mind and do not engage in endless fruitless activities.

6. It's okay to be wrong

This is not only normal, but in reality it happens all the time and will happen many more times. As long as you don't beat yourself up and try to learn from your mistakes, everything will be just fine.

When you find yourself in difficult situations, you learn the most valuable lessons, so don't be afraid to make mistakes.

Do your best, always raise your standards and improve your skills, learn what is worth remembering, and keep moving forward.

7. Wherever you are, live in the present

Nobody can tell you for sure what will happen tomorrow. Only in the present can you become the person you strive to become, provided that you live every moment, not dreaming about the future and not regretting the past, but doing something (anything) to achieve your goals.

8. When your inner voice prompts: "Drop it!" - listen to him

Again, being careless and content with what you have, not what you really want to achieve, is a common problem.

Being content with something that doesn't bring you any joy is like smoking: you know it is killing you slowly, but you keep doing it. Globally, we are grains of sand in the Universe, all our fears and worries are the result of our own thoughts. So don't be afraid to change.

Understand what really makes your world go round, and decide to direct all your efforts to make it happen.
