The DPTH app has appeared on Google Play and the App Store, allowing you to add a custom depth of field effect to any photo. It functions on the basis of artificial intelligence technology, which makes it possible to determine the approximate distance to objects.
You can work both with a snapshot obtained through DPTH and with an image loaded from memory. In any case, the application automatically generates a depth map, allowing you to click to focus only on a zone at a selected distance.
This is what distinguishes DPTH from other similar services - this application searches for equidistant objects throughout the frame, and does not work only with a selected area, trying to blur the object along its contour. Moreover, the service copes even with the conditions of lack of lighting.
The DPTH effect is especially well seen in landscape or outdoor portraits. On such frames, the blur parameters can be adjusted manually. In a photo indoors, this will not be particularly useful.
In the iOS version of the application, 3D photo generation with parallax effect is also available. This feature is coming to Android soon. In the future, the developers promise other unusual innovations.
