The company says the firmware is almost as fast as the base Android shell.

After several months of beta testing, Xiaomi is preparing to launch a stable international version of the proprietary MIUI 9 shell. The update will be available on some devices tomorrow. As a result, it will reach most smartphones - even Mi2, which was released in 2012.

The company has improved a number of processes and factors in MIUI 9. These include background activity management, dynamic resource allocation, and data transfer efficiency. Thanks to this, applications began to launch faster and their content loaded. The very process of using the mobile OS has become smoother.

Xiaomi has improved other aspects of MIUI as well, including notifications. They can now be stretched to view additional information. Added support for complex notifications, for example, multiple messages from WhatsApp. It is also now possible to quickly respond directly from the notification curtain: previously, you had to install third-party applications for this.

The built-in MIUI 9 Photo Editor allows you to remove unwanted elements from pictures like tourists and power lines. A lot of different stickers have appeared: 12 sets are available at the start.

To transfer files without an internet connection, you can use Mi Drop. It is now a standalone application that can be easily launched from the home screen. Later it will appear on Google Play.

The update will be available tomorrow for owners of Redmi Note 4, Mi Mix 2 and Mi Max 2. On other smartphones it will appear later this month.
