Theater Mode Expansion automatically plays YouTube videos in widescreen mode

Theater Mode opens a movie on a wide screen with a black backing - just like in a movie theater. There is a way to make YouTube show all videos in this mode.

Theater Mode expands the video to the width of the window, but does not overlap other windows and programs, as in full-screen mode. That is, you can still open adjacent tabs and use other applications on your PC. When you return to watching the video, you don't have to rescale it.

Strange, but YouTube does not have a setting that allows you to always display videos in Theater Mode: the widescreen mode must be turned on manually every time the page is reloaded. These browser plugins will help you enable Theater Mode automatically.

They can be used to make Widescreen a permanent view in Chrome, Firefox and Opera. There are no settings in the extensions, they are primitive: while enabled, YouTube videos open in Theater Mode. To return to the previous view mode, remove the extension or click on the "Wide screen" button (located to the right of the full-screen mode icon - see the screenshot above).
