Who makes Death Stranding

The game is handled by Kojima Productions, the independent studio of Hideo Kojima, who created the Metal Gear Solid series. Prior to that, he worked with Guillermo del Toro and Norman Reedus on the horror movie Silent Hills, but the publisher Konami closed the project. Kojima broke off relations with the latter and started his own company.

The technical partner of Kojima Productions is Guerrilla Games, the studio that released the colorful action movie Horizon Zero Dawn. It is on the engine of the latter that Death Stranding is created.

Are there any Death Stranding trailers

There are four trailers worth checking out.

What was shown in the first trailer

First, we see the corpses of crabs on the black sand, from which dark wires extend. Then the traces of palms appear nearby, which are filled with black liquid. Next, the hero of Norman Reedus is shown: a cord goes from his stomach, which is connected to the baby.

He wakes up, hugs the child and cries. Soon the baby disappears, and the marks of children's hands remain on Sam's body.

Towards the end, the protagonist looks at the seashore, strewn with dead fish and whales. Five mysterious silhouettes hang over the water.

What was shown in the second trailer

The hero Guillermo del Toro hides in a ruined city, where skeletal soldiers walk. The character carries with him a container with a baby. When black water rises to his feet, the hero connects a cable to the container, and the child opens his eyes.

Then we are shown a squad of skeletons led by the villain - the character Mads Mikkelsen, known to many from the TV series "Hannibal". Ordinary enemies are also connected by cables to their leader.

In the trailer, you can see an inverted rainbow, which is actually a zenith arc. Ice crystals in the clouds create such an effect in clear weather. This is a rare but real phenomenon.

What was shown in the third trailer

Sam and his partners find themselves in the middle of the wasteland. One of them was pinned down by the van. Something invisible eventually takes the poor man, which makes him grow old almost instantly. The other partner is sucked in by a huge black figure and an explosion occurs.

Then the main character finds himself in the sea, where the living creatures swim belly up. After that, we see how the character stands at a huge crater with a child in his arms, and figures again hang in the sky.

What was shown in the fourth trailer

Sam is talking to a certain girl played by Lea Seydoux (The Life of Adele, 007: Specter). She lets us know that the main character is a courier. And those creatures that he can only feel, this lady is able to see. In general, the dialogue is very philosophical and full of mysteries.

The conversation is superimposed on the footage in which Sam is hiding from the rain. He tries to pick up a photograph from the ground, but a drop falls on his hand, and the skin begins to age.

Then we see how the hero drags some kind of load to different parts of the world, and his clothes and hairstyle are constantly changing. At one point, you can see a motorcycle. Probably, on the latter, you can move around open locations.

At the end, another heroine appears on the screen - a young woman in a formal suit with the face of Lindsay Wagner, the leading actress in the TV series "Bionic Woman".

What Death Stranding will be about

Kojima still hasn't said anything specific about the game - he likes it when fans gather information bit by bit and speculate. Presumably, there was an incident in the world of Death Stranding, about which nothing is really known. The goal of the protagonist, who is engaged in the delivery of various goods, is to restore integrity to the split world. A baby will help him in this - perhaps an embryonic version of the protagonist himself.

The game is full of anomalies. There is rain from another world, under the drops of which plants grow and wither instantly, and the human body grows old. The usual reality seems to be docked with another - the one where monsters invisible to most live.

What the gameplay will be in Death Stranding

The project is an action movie with stealth elements and an open world. Interaction with other players will play an important role in the gameplay, but how this will work is unclear.

As Kojima said, after death, the player finds himself in a kind of purgatory - a world that is turned upside down and is under water. And after the return of the hero, the familiar world changes with his death.

When is Death Stranding coming out?

There is no official release date yet. But on the page of the game it is said that it will go on sale on December 31, 2019. But the head of Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima, does not like to rush with his creations, so we can safely assume that the project will be released in 2020. The game designer himself said that this will happen no later than the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.

What are the system requirements for Death Stranding

The project is still planned only for the PlayStation 4, so there is no point in talking about system requirements. There is unconfirmed information that Death Stranding will be released on PC as well. But if it does, it will certainly not happen simultaneously with the release on the console from Sony.
