When a web version is developed on the basis of a popular application, this is not surprising - everyone is now striving for the cloud. But when a full-fledged desktop application is created on the basis of a web service, it looks somewhat unusual. Moreover, such an application is a powerful graphics editor.
We got acquainted with the Fotor web application in one of the previous articles. It made an extremely good impression on everyone back then, and the availability of the Android and iPhone version contributed to your high ratings in the comments. Today we would like to gladden you with the news that a version for desktops (Windows and Mac) has also appeared in the Fotor family of applications.
After installing and launching the program, we will be asked to choose which task we want to solve at this time - editing photos or creating collages. The fact is that the program consists of two separate modules that work independently of each other.
The application window is made in dark colors, controls and tools are concentrated on the right and bottom panels. All possible operations on images are divided into several categories, switching between which is done using the buttons on the right.
Having opened a photo in need of editing, we can correct the existing imperfections in one click by applying automatic correction. There are also many automatic correction scenarios depending on the shooting conditions (flash, night, beach, landscape, and so on).
In the screenshot above, you can see some of the editor's features. So, in addition to correction in automatic mode, we have all the basic options for manual manipulation of brightness, contrast, exposure, saturation, and so on. For artistic processing of images in the corresponding section, there are many filters that can be used to give the appearance of an old photo, a black and white photograph, apply all sorts of hipster effects, and so on. Separately, it is worth noting the presence of the Tilt-Shift tool for creating the feeling of a "small world" in the images.
The finished photo can be enclosed in one of the beautiful frames and saved to your hard drive in JPG, PNG, BMP and TIFF formats. Or send directly to Facebook, Twitter or Flickr.
The second module of the program looks no less interesting - for creating collages. Immediately after opening it, you can select the template and aspect ratio you need, and then all you have to do is open the photos, arrange them in their places and adjust the display settings.
If you are cramped within the proposed templates, then you can choose a free style in which your pictures will be arranged in the disorder you specify, like a heap of photographic cards on the table. The background for the collage can be selected from the proposed images or filled with a uniform fill of any color.
As you can see from this review, the Fotor app has an impressive arsenal of photo editing and collage tools. At the same time, it is completely free and has versions for all platforms (Windows, Mac, Windows 8, Android and iOS), so you can use the features you like regardless of your device.

Photo Editor is the best free photo editor for Android
Until recently, many were firmly convinced that a good shot can only be taken with a professional camera with an expensive lens, and that you can normally edit a photo only in Photoshop. Modern smartphones have coped with the first half of this stereotype, and an Android program called Photo Editor with the second.
