Why you shouldn't buy beer in green bottles and how long you can store it.
Beer should be kept in a refrigerator or dark, cool place such as a cupboard or basement. The quality of this drink is adversely affected by heat, light and oxygen.
Do not store beer in a hot room
Typically, beer is placed in the refrigerator shortly before drinking. But if this is not part of your plans for the evening or for the coming days, it is not necessary to keep it cold all the time.
You can safely store your beer at room temperature for one or two weeks. However, after a month of such storage, the taste and smell of beer may change for the worse.
It is best to store this drink at about +1 ° C. You cannot keep it indoors where it is very hot. The warmer it is, the faster the beer will go bad.
Keep beer out of sunlight
Beer taste can also deteriorate if it is exposed to sunlight or fluorescent lights even for a short time. That is why beer is bottled in dark bottles. But you shouldn't leave them in the sun anyway.
Dark brown glass is able to block 98% of sunlight, which reliably protects the beer from its negative effects. Beer in green bottles can go bad in a few minutes, as this glass blocks only 20% of the light. It goes without saying that it is generally undesirable to store beer in transparent bottles.
Don't leave beer open
If you leave the beer open for a long time, it will fizzle out and lose its flavor. However, oxygen can also get into a closed bottle. Beer makers use special devices to prevent this, but this does not always help.
When oxygen gets into beer, it has a detrimental effect on its taste and smell. Sour beer can smell like wax, cardboard or paper. In other words, you will smell a smell that is not at all peculiar to this drink.
The expiration date must be indicated on the beer bottle. After that date, the beer will not only lose its taste, but may also harm health. If the shelf life is not specified, beer should be consumed within three months from the date of bottling. In six months, it will most likely be ruined.
