IOS 13 introduced Memoji stickers - sets of static images generated from an emoji template, but with a custom digital avatar instead of standard faces.

Animoji and Memoji are only available to iPhone and iPad owners with TrueDepth cameras. In contrast, Memoji Stickers work on any device running iOS 13, iPadOS 13 and later.

How to create your own Memoji stickers

Memoji stickers are automatically generated, so you only need to add a character to create them. Here's how to do it.

Open iMessage in any chat or create a new chat

Tap the face icon and press "+"

Match the facial features of your character, add accessories and click "Finish"

If you want, you can create as many avatars as you like in different images, and then use them in correspondence, depending on the context.

How to send Memoji stickers

After adding Memoji stickers, you can use them and so diversify your communication with friends. IMessages has a dedicated button for this that you pressed when creating a Memoji.

In other applications, Memoji stickers are available from the emoji keyboard. Swipe to the right to open frequently used stickers; to display all the sets, you need to click on the button with the ellipsis.
