Install these extensions for Chrome and Firefox so you don't miss out on new episodes of your favorite shows.

1. SmarterPod

The extension is still in beta testing, so the functionality is still lacking, but all the basic features are there. You can manage subscriptions, add new episodes, create playlists from multiple episodes. You can pause playback and then resume listening from where you left off.

2. Podcast Player Prime

Podcast Player Prime may scare off with its clumsy design, but it's still a good player. Managing your subscriptions is easy: you can find the station you want via search or the podcast URL.

When you first start it, be sure to go to the settings and set the time for checking new episodes so that you do not have to do it manually. There you can also change the color scheme and other options.

The only drawback of this player is the lack of synchronization with the mobile version.

3. PodStation Podcast Player

Simple and easy to use podcast aggregator. The PodStation is not overloaded with unnecessary settings. It looks minimalistic and includes only basic functions, but this is more of a plus. You don't always want to dig into the settings, but here everything is simple: added a podcast - a separate card appeared. Go to it and see a list of all episodes. All unheard episodes are cached in a separate list, so you can always come back to them later.

4. SoundCloud Player

Many have heard of this streaming service, but not everyone knows that it has an extension. In fact, this is a regular player. You can manage subscriptions and create playlists only in the web version or mobile application. The extension plays the role of a convenient player.

The SoundCloud extension stands out primarily in that you can listen not only to podcasts, but also to music, sounds of wildlife, mantras, and in general any audio content that the service provides. This means that you can compose a playlist from any audio tracks and listen to podcast episodes with your favorite tracks.

If you don't like making playlists, but just want to listen to the latest episode of your favorite show, go to the Stream tab. There you will find all episodes sorted by release date. In addition, any track can be downloaded and listened to offline.
