Going to bed in the evening is not always easy, even when you want to sleep. But there is one easy way to train yourself to go to bed earlier.
The trick is this: as soon as you start nodding off, tell yourself:
I'll go to bed right now and try to fall asleep in 15 minutes. If after this time I still won't sleep, then I can [insert thing you would like to do].
You can promise yourself to watch one episode of the show, eat a slice of pizza, or something else. If you still cannot sleep, try again.
Before going to bed, turn off the lights, undress or put on comfortable pajamas, try to relax - in short, do everything to make your attempt succeed. Unless you have insomnia, chances are you will be asleep before 15 minutes have passed.
If nothing works out on the first night, do not despair and keep trying: over time, the process will turn into a kind of competition with yourself. Your body will stop thinking about the promised pizza in case of failure and switch to sleep.
