Google Keep is one of the most popular note, list and quote apps. It's simple, straightforward, and available for almost any platform. However, it can be used for more than just storing notes. In this article, you will learn how to use Google Keep to extract text or, conversely, make a mark on any image.
The OCR feature in pictures appeared in Google Keep not so long ago, and not all users know about it. To use it, create a new note and load any picture containing text into it.
After that, open the created note and expand the context menu by touching the icon with three dots in the upper right corner. In it you will see the "Recognize Text" command. This item activates the optical character recognition system, which reads the text from the picture and places the result in the same note. Please note that this feature requires an internet connection.
The ability to add handwritten notes appeared in the newest version of Google Keep. It will appeal to those people who need to make a quick sketch, sketch or, for example, mark over an image. A great way to highlight an important fragment in a photo in a few seconds instead of writing your comments in text form!
Sketches can be made with a virtual pen, felt-tip pen or highlighter in different colors and sizes. There is also an eraser for removing excess strokes. In addition, it is possible to select and move any of the drawn objects to another place.
Currently, this feature is only available in Google Keep with version number 3.2.435.0, which is not yet available for all countries. If you do not want to wait several days until the latest version of the program appears in the local application store, then you can download it right now from this link.
