If you want to help the person rather than hurt his or her self-worth, follow these simple rules.
Start positive
First, tell the person about the merits of his or her job. Don't be unfounded - give specific examples of what exactly you liked.
This will set the person you are talking to in a positive mood and build confidence. It will be easier for him to accept criticism.
Suggest alternatives
When talking about the disadvantages of a job, be sure to offer alternatives. Tell us what you would do to correct the mistakes you made. State your views on how the work could be improved using phrases like "It would be better if you …"
Use precise language
Try to break down your review into a few specific points. Avoid general phrases and only talk about certain aspects of the work, and not about everything in general. Try to focus on how to improve the work, rather than what mistakes were made in it.
Your job is to help the person improve, not make them feel uncomfortable. It is important to cheer up the interlocutor and show him that there is nothing wrong with his mistakes and he can easily deal with them.
