A selection of the best extensions Google has created for their browser.
With extensions, the browser turns into a drawing tool, into an office suite - or anything else. Most of them are created by third-party developers, but Google is making efforts to add to the Chrome extension store. This list is a compilation of the best browser extensions by the developers of Google.
1. Google Mail Checker
Gmail users install this extension first. It checks your mail and displays the number of unread emails in the Chrome toolbar.
2. Search by Image
A simple extension that helps you quickly search for images on Google. You can right click on any image and find similar images.

3. RSS Subscription Extension
Google Chrome doesn't display the RSS icon in the URL bar by default, although RSS is the most convenient way to keep track of new content on your favorite sites. The RSS Subscription Extension fixes this Chrome flaw. With this extension, you only need to make one click to subscribe to the news feed.
4. Google Tone
Quite a funny thing that comes in handy if you have several computers nearby, on which you need to open the same Internet page. Google Tone uses a microphone and speakers to transmit URLs to computers within earshot. Just keep in mind that these computers must also have the Google Tone extension enabled. You can send articles, images, documents, YouTube videos and search results to friends sitting next to you, so you don't need to send them links via instant messengers, and they don't have to get up and watch what you want to show them on your monitor.
5. User-Agent Switcher for Chrome
If for some reason you need websites to mistake your computer for a mobile device, or if you want to impersonate your Chrome as another browser, use the User-Agent Switcher for Chrome. This can be useful to access features not available for your browser or platform. For example, by changing your User-Agent, you can post photos to Instagram directly from your desktop.
6. Saving traffic
With this extension, desktop Chrome will be able to save bandwidth by compressing data on Google servers, just like mobile Chrome can. This is useful if your laptop is connected to the Internet via a metered connection.
7. Editing Office Files
The extension allows you to partially do without the bulky office suite from Microsoft. It allows you to open Word, Excel and PowerPoint files in a browser using Google Docs.
8. Color filter
The extension will allow you to customize the colors on the page you are viewing. This can be useful to make your reading more comfortable or just change the annoying color scheme of sites.
9. Google Arts & Culture
This Chrome extension showcases snapshots of works of art from around the world and displays a summary of them. The gallery is updated daily. A good way to get acquainted with both modern and classical art in your spare time.
Google Arts & Culture artsandculture.google.com
10. Google Scholar
The Google Scholar extension comes in handy if you are writing a term paper or dissertation. It can automatically search for scientific articles while browsing the web.
11. Mindful Break
When you're tired of work, Mindful Break can help you relax with breathing exercises. The extension allows you to find the right rhythm for your breathing. You can customize when and how often to exercise. Just expand the extension window to full screen and follow the prompts. Inhale … exhale.
Mindful Break Report abuse
12. Diagnostics of Chrome connections
A simple extension that tests your internet connection for problems. It will tell you if something is wrong with your connection or DNS.
Diagnose Chrome connections chrome.google.com
13. Google Translate
The extension quickly translates highlighted words and sentences or entire web pages. Just highlight the incomprehensible phrase and click on the pop-up icon.
Google Translate translate.google.com
14. Save to Google Drive
A useful extension for active Google Drive users. It saves web page content and screenshots to Google Drive.
Save to Google Drive drive.google.com
15. Google Keep
A similar extension for Google Keep. Saves pictures, texts and links in your notes in Keep.
Google Keep Chrome Extension Report Abuse
16. Google Calendar
When you don't have time to switch to a tab from Google Calendar, you can view your scheduled tasks using this extension right in your Chrome toolbar.
These are not all extensions made by Google. You can see the full list here and here and tell us in the comments if you find something else interesting there.
