Evernote, which bought the Skitch project about a year ago, announced a major update of the app of the same name to version 2.0. A year ago, the Skitch development team had two people, and, according to available data, the application was downloaded 300 thousand times. To date, Skitch has grown to 20 employees and 10 million downloads. In addition, according to Evernote's management, the time has come to update and improve this popular product.

The Skitch program is designed to conveniently create screenshots and quickly work with images: add an inscription, an arrow and notes, a watermark, some kind of effect - all this is done in seconds. Version 2.0 is an optimized version of the product, which retains the best and most popular features, supplemented with several useful features.

The developers have preserved the main functionality of Skitch - the ability to display and communicate ideas using screenshots and annotated images. Moreover, it has become even easier and more convenient to do it. The program works in sync with the entire Evernote ecosystem and with Skitch sketches across devices. Updates are ready for both OS X and iOS (as before - for iPad, and now also for iPhone and iPod touch). Thus, making out a picture with notes on a Mac, you can immediately view it on iGadget - the ecosystem in action!

The developers did not forget about the possibility of publishing screenshots and images on social networks (be it Facebook or Twitter), sending them by e-mail and demonstrating them in instant messaging programs and other applications. In iGadgets, the publication is implemented using a simple tap on the social network icon at the top of the display. Finally, the search function will help you quickly find the desired picture by tags or even by the inscriptions inside it - the Evernote image recognition system is applied.

Among the new features in Skitch 2.0, we highlight two: "Pixelate" and "Highlighter". Using the first one, you can cover up a part of the image that you do not want to show to others. The second will help to draw the public's attention to the desired part of the picture. By the way, images that are being edited are also synchronized. That is, the user can easily create a file on a Mac, and then edit it in Skitch on the iPhone on the road and send the finished image to the recipient on the go.

Newbies who haven’t used the software yet can try it first without registering with Evernote. However, in this case, they will not be able to synchronize data between all iGadgets and Mac. To do this, you still have to create an account with Evernote, which is fast and completely free. For the lazy, there are simple instructions that will help you quickly figure out how to work with Skitch on any platform, be it OS X or iOS. For those who already use the previous version of Skitch, urgently update!

The developers do not intend to offend the "green robot" and other platforms. Skitch 2.0 is on the way for them.
