Dropbox Capture lets you quickly create screenshots and video tutorials

Dropbox has launched a service for capturing screenshots and screen recording. It is available for Windows and macOS and allows you to avoid cluttering your computer with even more work files.

The creators are positioning Capture as a way to get rid of unnecessary work calls: instead, you can take a couple of screenshots or screen recordings and clearly show your colleagues what you mean. Capturing video is really convenient: you can use a marker to highlight or add something right during recording, there is a "Resume" button and several capture modes (the entire screen, a specified area or a specific window). You can also create GIFs, record webcam videos, and overlay them on screen recordings.

The created images and videos are automatically copied to the clipboard for sharing, and they are saved directly to Dropbox. This way, unnecessary files do not appear on your computer, but you can use these materials again if necessary.

Dropbox Capture is currently available in beta mode and in English only, but you can download it now at. The service is free, but requires a Dropbox account.
